We have just had 3 nights in the Royal George Hotel and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We had a lovely room with a triple aspect view, comfortable bed and very quiet due to the secondary glazing on all the windows. Extremely good breakfast with a choice of fresh fish and

This hotel is in a good location and staff are all warm and welcoming. If a traditional hotel suits you, then this Is it. However it is very tired in parts. The lounge area with assorted worn chairs and sofas is more care home vibe than shabby chic. My room was spacious and

We had room 17. It's a first floor twin on the corner overlooking both the river and the hotel garden.

I think it is worth you phoning the hotel. Our double room was very nice, large and updated but we were in a mini basement with no view at all. If you are not on the riverside, you would be overlooking the shopping street. The staff were lovely - ask if you can reserve a double room. Happy 70th!
