What a fantastic few nights at the Royal George! Room was clean and comfortable, location is excellent, the building is exquisite and breakfasts were superb! What really made our stay one of the best we've had was the staff. Nothing was too much trouble and always with a smile; truly above and beyond. A special shout out to Helen at breakfast who was so super helpful and friendly(Megan misses you!) amd also to Eddy the night porter who made our first night so good with his warm welcome. Thanks all, we can't wait to return!

You cannot beat the location of this hotel, its on George Street, very close to the Concert Hall and Museum and also to the Theater. Its also only a block from the main shops (not that they are great). Plus, right across the road is a path that leads along the river to the North Inch park.

They have tried very hard to keep as much character as they can which can make the public rooms look a little dated, but everything was clean and tidy. There are one way systems in place in the restaurant and bar to cope with Covid and "most" people obeyed. The conservatory was lovely for breakfast with its view over the river, but try to get there before 9 as then you could see people having to queue to get a table due to Covid distancing/shorter hours. The bar was a typical highland hotel bar with lots of local memorabilia etc and not the cheapest.

The room was nice and a good size, but dark due to the old fashioned furniture, the net curtains and lack of decent lighting. But that is the style of the hotel. The bathroom was modern and clean and the beds comfortable.

The room did get really hot at night so had to request a fan brought up (it was above the reception area which had an open fire continually lit). The window didn't appear to open, but would have had to clamber onto the drawers below the window to try and open it anyway. Plus there was a flat roof outside so wouldn't have wanted to sleep with it open.

If you want modern this is not the hotel for you, its a traditional hotel with clean rooms and a good breakfast. Plus the location is great.

The Royal George exceeded my expectations.
The room was really nice with a good bathroom. All of the staff were attentive and friendly. It was no trouble to have an early Sunday breakfast even - lots of hot toast and cereal.
For value, it is pretty much unbeatable. Compared to many b&bs in Perth of a similar price to what I paid, the location, views, space to relax in and room quality is excellent.
Thanks to all the team.

Check in was very friendly and we were welcomed warmly with our two dogs. We were told that we could go anywhere in the hotel with our dogs apart from the conservatory, although they would set up a table for us just outside in the hallway if we wanted to sit in that area. In terms of space we were delighted with the room, we booked a mini suite which was comfortable and spotlessly clean. The bed was a little too hard for me although fine for my partner and I would have preferred to see a mattress cover. The seated area in the suite would benefit from a sofa, the two bucket-style chairs there at the moment were not very comfortable to sit in.
The location was excellent just opposite Perth bridge with walks along the river, park and very close to the town, shops, restaurants etc. Parking was limited, it was quiet when we visited so wasn't an issue for us but I can imagine it could be difficult during busy times. Food was good, quite old style although there was a lot of choice and different menus i.e. High Tea, Dinner, Lunch, Afternoon tea, something to suit everyone. Couldn't fault the staff they were all very friendly, professional and kind. Would definitely recommend it, we hope to be back soon.

£50 a night, limited free parking and the spaces at the rear of the hotel are tight VERY tight, strongly advise to not risk it and park on the main road and pay for parking. The hotel itself is very dated with creaky floors no matter where you step, I requested a double room expecting a double bed to be in there as standard but was greeted with 2 singles zipped together 😲 traffic noise can be Clearly heard throughout the nighy as the hotel is on a very busy main road and thr secondry glazing dies very little to drown out the noise, the heating on the top floor rooms is barely noticeable and the radiators not even luke warm to touch, food is mediocre and quite expensive. Frozen chips 🙈 staff are very polite and pleasant 👍🏼👍🏼

We spent a Friday and Saturday evening here, had lunch on our first day which was excellent, although not on the menu, waiter arranged for us to have soup and a sandwich, as the menu was more main meals which we didn’t require, it was well presented and tasty. Breakfast on both mornings was ample and quite a good selection to choose from and service was quick.
Our room was quite large, room 36, and was ample for our needs although it’s a little dated and water marks round the windows, it was ok. We asked for a lower floor which we were given and not too far from reception. Our room was very quiet and didn’t have much of an outlook, only onto flat roofs on another part of the hotel.
Parking .... this can be a problem, car park is small and very tight so we did spend a bit money parking elsewhere as there is no free parking round about, only free day is a Sunday. Local multi storey car park is £12 for 24 hours if you can’t get into hotel car park.
Staff are all very friendly and polite.
Lovely views to the river Tay from the conservatory.

Charming hotel with great heritage in a enchanting city. The staff are extremely accommodating and friendly to such an extent that they allowed to change our booking date due to one of us having influenza and the manager even gave us his parking spot. The food was superb especially the rather novel high tea, the rooms were big, extremely welcoming with plenty of hot water in very comfortable bathrooms and the breakfast over looking the river was both rather tasty and extremely scenic. Would go back without a second thought

The breakfasts and dinners were excellent, good value and huge portions. The room was spacious and cleaned daily, however, having reused the towels a couple of times, it was irritating to discover after third use, they had been taken from the bath, soaking wet, and rehung on the towel rail. We always re use towels, just as we would at home, but when the hand towel is wet from drying hair, a fresh one isn’t much to ask. Car parking is also problematic and on street parking is time limited and expensive.

I cannot recommend the Royal George and their staff highly enough. With the current restrictions for funeral gatherings etc, they made what was a very sad day run as smoothly as possible. Special mention to Andrew who calmly helped one of our elderly guests when he had a fall. Also the guests who stayed overnight said the room rate was very reasonable and the meals were huge and tasty. Thanks again!

Just back from a wee weekend break in perth staying at the royal george. We booked a junior suite which was really great. Large room with 4 poster bed. Big bathroom. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Safe as all the relevant procedures in place for covit. Parking is limited at the hotel but local pay parking cheap and had no problems with security. Didnt have dinner at the hotel but breakfast good.
