The concierge wearing a padded jacket should have alerted us to how cold our stay would be. The hotel's public areas such as the reception and bar, and the rooms need upgrading. They are dated and some areas within the hotel smell strongly of damp. Our bedroom was totally unheated and cold. The bed was clean and comfortable enough but we couldn't work out how to get the shower on in the en suite bathroom. The bathroom itself smelled damp, was dated and looked tired and worn. Staff were helpful and attentive.

When we arrived, we couldn't park outside the hotel due to space limits, but the owner instructed us to park opposite the building. Once we had unpacked, the owner/member of staff served us, and we went into our room. Once we got into the room, we were pleasantly surprised by the size and how comfortable the beds were. We were slightly saddened to learn that the bar was closed when we arrived. Thankfully, there are plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. If you’re looking for somewhere to rest your head and are not looking for a pristine room, this is the place for you. The only thing we noticed was the wallpaper coming off the wall in one location, but this didn't discourage us, and we will definitely stay there again.

Booked here due to location and price. Was actually pleasantly surprised when we arrived. Room was very clean and the complimentary toiletries (which included individually wrapped toothbrushes) were a nice touch.

Decor in the hotel was tired but it looks like the Nepalese family are renovating.

Breakfast, which was included in the price, was good. We had to pre-order the evening before but that’s fine. Continental breakfast was on offer too which a range of breads, cakes, cereal, fruit and also a variety of milks. A nice touch.

My only disappointment was they didn’t offer a choice of vegetarian cooked breakfast en par with meat eaters. My only choice was one egg, a small splattering of mushrooms, beans and 2 small cherry tomatoes. Perhaps offering a choice of vegetarian sausages would have been advisable, especially when meat eaters were offered black pudding, sausages and bacon.

We arrived to find that there were planned roadworks outside of the hotel which we had not been informed of. We had been stuck in a queue of traffic for 10 minutes but arriving outside found We were unable to park due to the spaces been cordoned off. We had to go around the block again which took another 15 minutes due to one way streets and a back log from the said roadworks. We managed to get through the cordon and park. The only car park is at the front of the hotel but it's on a very busy road which you have to back on to.
We went inside and waited an age before anyone came to reception. We mentioned the roadworks but there was no apology for not contacting us or any other comment. The manager was Nepalese and didn't seem to speak very good English.
Our room was a fairly good size but the decor was very dated. Some redecorating had been done but didn't match the rest of the wall paper or colours. The bathroom had been retiled but the paintwork was peeling. Plenty of hot water though and toiletries.
The restaurant was closed so no evening meals were being served at all.
We hardly slept as the air con was starting up every 5 minutes, running for 5 then off for 5 all night. Then the roadworks started again bang on 7.30am!
Aftera decent breakfast which we had to preorder when we checked in we asked to change rooms because of the noise. We were given another room at the back of the hotel but with slightly better decor. I have to say the bed was comfortable and there was a fridge in the room although £3 for a can of soft drink and £6 for a small bottle of procesco was a bit steep. With a large desk, a small table and 2 chairs and a television unit the room was a little cramped.
We wouldn't stay at the Grampion again.

We had a lovely nights stay here, whilst going to a show in Perth. The room we stayed in (19) overlooked the main road..... however Earplugs were left on the bed for us, alhough we didn't need them. The room was lovely and the bed was very comfortable. The Shower was more than adequate. Rooms were comfy and warm with everything you could want. we paid £88.49 and that included Breakfast. The staff were extremely welcoming and friendly... Breakfast which was included was freshly cooked although you did need to order on arrival. Would I stay here again..... Yes

Stayed at this hotel as we're at a concert in Perth. The hotel is very clean and a lot of redecorating has been carried out. Easy check in after getting parked at the front door. Room ideal for our stay. Spotless and comfortable. Our room was at the front in the main road but didn't really notice the road noise. They did provide earplugs.

There is a nice large bar but as we were out didn't use it.

Hot Breakfast was pre selected at check in and was very good with other bits and pieces buffet style.

Staff are nice and friendly.

Would definitely stay here again as the price was excellent value for money.

Ordered an Indian takeaway from the restaurant, ordering was slightly painful due to a language barrier & them not hearing me as I had to repeat several times.

They read back my order and I clarified my specifics, I was asked to collect 20/25 minutes later & I arrived 30 minutes in and waited a further 10 minutes in the reception area before going up to the hotel desk to say I was in to collect a delivery.

The waiter took me through to the bar to pay & then I waited a further 10 minutes where another waiter told me to come to the bar to collect it, I said I already paid but he looked confused even though I was holding my receipt.

Whilst I was waiting for 20 minutes, I could hear a restaurant customer complaining about waiting on something & a couple in the bar drunk where the guy was loud & swearing constantly. There was also tables to the right as you walk into the building that were all littered with plates & glasses also around 5 tables in the restaurant.

Got home with what I thought was quite pricey for 2 people £43.30 to find the 2 main meals were wrong despite me repeatedly asking for the dishes to be done specifically & the waiter confirming.

This is our 1st time trying this restaurant since it changed over to an Indian restaurant. I had heard good comments but I have to say between my wrong order, the price, atmosphere whilst waiting on my order & all the staff looking miserable I won’t be back & I am usually someone that would give somewhere a 2nd chance but this place won’t see me back again!

The hospitality and service in this hotel is five star 🌟 room is beautifully decorated, spacious and spotless. Large beautiful bathroom which has been newly updated. Tasty breakfast and fridge in the room. got this and a very reasonable price for 3 night stay, this hotel would definitely give the more expensive hotels a run for their money. Will definitely be back

Good hotel for the price.
Room was clean and comfortable with a decent sized TV, staff helpful and attentive.
Breakfast was generous with a large selection of food including fresh fruit, yogurts, cereals, croissants, pancakes and even Tunnocks teacakes! All this before starting on the cooked food. Parking is limited so could be a problem during busy times.

Four of us decided to give the new Shimla Dining a try, well it didnt disappoint , absolutely delicious food, friendly helpful staff, we thought the prices were very reasonable. The only downside was we had a bit of a wait between courses but they were very apologetic as they were extremely busier than expected . We definately will be back soon to try more of their Nepalise dishes. I'm sure they will do well in Perth .
