Had visited Chestnuts before for an lunch then an evening meal and on both occasions was very impressed both in the food quality and friendliness of the staff. Decided to have a weekend stay with my wife and we were not disappointed. The room we had was lovely, well appointed with a very large bed and bathroom. The bar and...

The fact that the restaurant at The Chestnuts Hotel was booked out for lunch and dinner on Mothering Sunday says it all! The food was, as ever, terrific, and the staff friendly and professional - same as always! Love this place! Always a great atmosphere too. Never fails to deliver.

We stayed here for three nights and had a wonderful time. Staff are friendly, excellent food and drinks. Our room was fabulous although it did rather stink of gloss paint - but we persevered as it was such a lovely room. We had an evening meal on Valentine's night and the food was superb, fresh mussels, lobster and monk fish...

We went here for Valentine's Day and honestly couldn't fault it at all, food was delicious with a varied menu, staff very friendly, it was very busy when we went but we didn't have to wait ages for our orders.. Reasonably priced aswell, definitely be back.

The only disappointment was the breakfast: the sausage was of poor quality and the scrambled egg watery and disappointing - it should be creamy and luxurious. But, sort the breakfast and it is a...

Visited with family for Hogmanay. Lovely touch with piper at the door on arrival. From the starters to the mouthwatering fillet steaks surf and turf, chicken stuffed with chestnut mousse and monkfish, all were absolutely delicious. Fantastic evening and would definitely book again.

Can't rate the Chestnuts hotel highly enough. Had another excellent Christmas Eve meal here having visited for the past 3 years. Welcomed by Grant and staff on arrival, warm and comfortable dining room , tastefully decorated for Christmas. Within minutes of settling down at our table we were greeted by our waiting staff, drinks order taken and menus delivered. The...

Frequently stayed over the past 18 months on business, I couldn't fault the staff, I have found them all very friendly and extremely helpful, and polite, sadly I am planning on one final stay and will miss my frequent trips and stays at the "nuts". Food is generally very good its not a fine dining experience, but highly recommended all...
