The rooms are very spacious and comfortable and the king sized beds are luxurious. The bathroom was very clean and the shower is amazing. It basically gives you a massage at the same time.
The hotel is family run and many of the staff have worked there for more than 10 years, which for me says a lot.
Unfortunately on our recent trip the famous 'Chop House' steak restaurant was closed for refurbishment, but all the fantastic steaks were all available in the main restaurant and are highly recommended.
If you want to use it as we did as means of getting into Edinburgh then the rail link is great with regular trains running every 30 minutes and a cost of just £9.20 return is very reasonable. If there is a down side to this fabulous hotel it is that it is located about 2 miles out of Linlithgow and a little too far to walk into town each morning or evening when getting too and from the station, but there are many taxi services available at reasonable rates, so don't let that put you off as it's worth it.
Breakfast is also absolutely fantastic with the biggest selection of fresh fruit I can recall seeing in many a hotel.
I have to say, having been a waitress myself, I thought the waiting staff were outstanding. They were always alert to what was going on, providing attentive service without being intrusive. Well done.
One teeny tiny criticism. We were seated in the middle of the restaurant and, while we appreciated the cosy, candlelit atmosphere, it was a little difficult to see the menu and wine list. .
Staff were friendly and exchanged one inedible steak but we will never go bake nor recommend it to others.
Heartbreaking end to special occasion.
The staff went above & beyond we would definetly return.
Compliments to the chef well done everyone.
We went as a family of four and all of us decided to go for T bone steak.
They arrived promptly cooked to absolute perfection along with our sides which include chip shop style chips (We have been visiting this restaurant for years and to this day I wish I knew how they marinade the steak).
You must book a table here to guarantee a dining slot, this just goes to show how popular the restaurant is!
The service for our meal was excellent. The Staff could not do enough for us and were attentive from the moment we entered the restaurant.
The decor is of a certain vintage, which adds to the atmosphere however it could do with a refresh in places.
The menu is modern and varied, catering to everyone’s taste and budget.
The service was second to none. Staff could not do enough for you and were attentive from the moment we entered the restaurant.
The decor is of a certain vintage, which adds to the atmosphere. However, the menu is modern and varied, catering to everyone.
The food was amazing. Chicken liver pâté was superb and my steak was cooked beautifully. The drinks and pudding menu had an excellent variety.
It was an expensive meal, but well worth it for the quality of food and service. Diners have the option to spend less money by selecting soft drinks and food from the burger menu.
10/10 - I will definitely be back.
One night after returning at 11;00 from a late round of golf the restaurant was closed, the owner Ann had plates of smoked salmon, cheese, pate waiting for us. I never sat down when there wasn’t a ginger beer in front of me In 2 seconds. Every single person that I encountered from the front desk to the kitchen staff treated me like an ole friend. I don’t know that I will ever be lucky enough to get back to Scotland but I will tell you that the faces and actions of the people at champany will forever be etched in my fond memories of a trip of a lifetime for this lucky boy from the USA. Thank you all for your incredible hospitality.
Sincerest Regards,

However I do have to say despite the parking is free it is slight cramped and along a narrow road so has difficult acces.
