Great value for money, super location, friendly staff and very good breakfast which competes with higher-rated hotels. I found the room extremely small and dated, but otherwise a great value 3 star in Cork's centre. Plenty of atmosphere on MacCurtain Street too.

I'm a quite an easy going, undemanding individual when it comes to using hotels, I do quite a lot, I have no complaints and enjoyed the overall reception and experience which I encountered at the Metropole.

The staff are very helpful and friendly and the public areas are to a high standard. However the bedrooms although clean appear very tired and dated and greatly need renovation in particular the en-suite bathroom. There are notices advising customers that there are make overs in the future. The meals were of the average standard and could do with some...

We had a really nice stay here for our anniversary over Christmas. The staff were lovely, the breakfast was excellent, overlooking the River Lee and our room was really nice with a great high ceiling. It looks as though they've put a lot of money into doing up the rooms in recent times and it has definitely been money well...

Staff are extremely friendly, pleasant and helpful. Room was very small and needs updating, especially for the price. Very handy location. Bit of confusion about the carpark. Have to get ticket at reception before parking car and carpark was closed the next morning. Had to call reception to gain access.
