Excellent- except for one thing- we ate too much breakfast each day. The porridge is superb, especially with the Bailey's and the home made scones are some of the best we have tasted. Tony and Avril are most welcoming, and keen to impart their knowledge of Cork and surrounds. The house is very clean, the rooms not large but adequate...

Tony and Avril are amazing, helpful, courteous hosts. On top of that, they're amazing bakers, cooks, and housekeepers to boot. Stop wasting your time searching for a good Cork City B & B and go with Fernroyd House.

Lovely spacious rooms, great breakfast and very helpful hosts. Avril did a quick sweep of the rooms before we left and found that I had left my tweezers on the ledge. Now that's going the extra mile. :) In the city, Clancy's restaurant/pub was a really nice place with really good food and great service. The only problem was that...

We liked the "just off the main drag" location of this B&B, across from University College Cork. Avril and Tony are delightful and helpful hosts, and their breakfast was very good. It's an easy 15-minute walk into town. We particularly liked Avril's suggestion to eat at Market Lane--delicious food at a good price.

We stayed 4 nights, were warmly welcomed and given all the help we could ask for when finding our way around the city and local area. Tony and Avril were great hosts; the room was ideal - clean and very comfortable; the breakfast menu was extensive - the food well prepared and delicious. They could not have done more to...

We stayed here on a road trip through western Ireland in July 2012. Tony and Avril are absolutely amazing hosts and even waited to let us in despite a late arrival. Their breakfast options are stunning and very tasty, and they really could not have been more helpful. The location of the B&B is OK - around 15min walk into...

Clean, comfortable and quiet, the Fernroyd House came recommended and Tony and Avril lived up to great advance billing. Tony took time away from some big hurling matches to get us all squared away and happy in our rooms which were actually a few doors down from the main house. All rooms were en suite, and our house had a...

We stayed at Fernroyd House during our honeymoon May 3-4 and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The best part of our stay here was the hosts. Tony and Avril were wonderful. They were both very charming and conversational and also very helpful with recommendations and other services. they called the restaurants for us when we wanted to go, which was also...

First time in Ireland and on a bit of a family mission - made all the easier with the invaluable assistance in various ways of Avril and Tony. Tony and particularly Avril's kindness was wonderful and I cannot thank them enough for their time over the three days I was there, especially given they were busy running their business. The...

We stayed at Fernroyd House this July and it was amazing! Tony and Avril are the best hosts I've had at a B&B! They were so friendly and helped us with everything from restaurant recommendations, bus times, and calling a taxi to the airport. There were 6 of us traveling together and they made sure that we were all staying...
