My wife and I stayed here for six nights and although it was a bit more pricey than other hotels in the area it was worth every penny.
We had an executive room which was very spacious and spotless with a big bathroom and an added extra of a small fridge and complimentary bottled water and biscuits.
We only had dinner in the restaurant once and they kindly made my wife some nice sandwiches even though they were not on the menu which was very much appreciated.
I used the pool and jacuzzi a number of times and that helped me clear my head a few times in the morning!
The breakfast was perfect for us and the ingredients were first class.
The staff were very professional and courteous throughout our stay and cannot fault them in any way.
The hotel was only a ten minute walk to the centre of town which we enjoyed every day so overall i would highly recommend the Mill Park Hotel for a quality stay.

Just had 2 night stay. Really fine hotel. Wonderful character throughout. An amazing blend of old world and very modern styles and it looks great - big open spaces and yet plenty of quiet corners and private alcoves.
Breakfast room is amazing - lovely wooden stairs up to a high ceiling again in exposed hard wood rafters
Dining room downstairs is in a clean open modern style with solid marble tables.
Our bedroom was big with very big comfy bed and big bathroom with bath and seperate rain shower. Bath could do with some hand rails.
Everywhere very clean.
Food excellent. Staff efficient.
Location is near Donegal town so busy roads and roundabouts - not great for walking . One would need to drive somewhere go go for a proper walk.
One detail is the bedroom door was hard to open is it dragged in the carpet.

The breakfast servers are really nice, friendly, and attentive. I felt very comfortable there and taken care of. My room was also really cozy and I loved the complimentary snacks. The breakfast service was definitely my highlight of my short stay. And I appreciated that checking in at midnight was just as swift as any other time of check in. I also liked that they had a breakfast room service—I prefer to eat with company but it would be great for people that are more introverted! :)

Our experience of the Mill Park Hotel is a bit of a mixed bag.
We stayed in Mill Park Hotel for 2 nights to conclude our mini honeymoon on the wild Atlantic way.
On arrival to the hotel, we were kindly greeted and welcomed by reception staff.
It was a bit of a maze to find the room, involving navigating tight corridors, it was well signposted however but seemed a very roundabout way to access the 2nd floor.
We had booked an executive suite, and we were impressed with the lovely spacious bathroom with double sink.
The bed was comfortable and the room was very clean.

On arrival to the room we were met with complimentary water. A bit disappointing considering the Irish hospitality we received in our prior hotel stops along the wild Atlantic way, in which we were given complimentary prosecco, wee cookies, freshly baked Irish soda bread etc.
Additionally, the overall decor of the room and hotel seemed to be lacking in character.
The rooms and hallways seemed like they were pulled directly from a B&M catalogue, with tacky mirrors, crushed silver tones etc.
Another issue we picked up on quickly was how thin the walls are, as my new husband said, "you could hear a mouse break wind 5 doors down!".
(Just to be clear, no mice in hotel, hotel spotlessly clean!!).
The towels also seemed quite rough and thin, not at all soft or luxurious! It was obvious that they had been washed one too many times and could do with being replaced.
The room was very hot at night, no obvious thermostat or fan to use so it was a bit uncomfortable.

We ate at the chapter 21 restaurant on the first night and we were well looked after by our waiter Patsy! He was great and so helpful!
The food was very tasty, good selection on the menu and the cocktails were gorgeous 😍

Our breakfast however was less than impressive. The hot food was obviously sat out for ages and tasted hard! The cereal and pastries were very dry and tastless. It is very obvious that the food was off brand and it all tasted very cheap and bland.
The only good thing about the breakfast was the helpful staff and toast that was served to each table.

The leisure centre was nice. It was very clean and we enjoyed the pool and jacuzzi. Staff helpful here too. We did need to purchase swimming hats before we were allowed entry (3 euro).
It would have been helpful for these to be provided as part of our booking. A robe and some slippers would also have been helpful to be provided to guests too as we had to walk back to the room in just our swimwear and towels.

Overall, our stay did have some good points but I don't think we would be inclined to stay here again, very overpriced for what you get.

The location of this hotel was lovely and it was easy to walk to local pubs. This should have been a lovely hotel, and other than the nighttime bartender, the hotel and overall experience was very poor. The staff at reception was not friendly or welcoming in any way. Multiple stops, multiple staff, and not once did anyone look up from whatever they were doing. They seemed to not understand that they were sold out/very busy during our dates of stay, everyone in the restaurant seemed be surprised by the volume of guests who enjoyed breakfast/dinner. The dinner we had the first night of arrival was subpar, and everything tasted as if it was frozen and reheated in the microwave. Not worth the money. Breakfast had better options but the quality was still very poor for the advertised class of property. Staff were not organized and were seen running around repeatedly, looking like chickens with no heads! Additional staff/assistance was needed. The guest room was underwhelming and the shower pressure both mornings was abysmal. My wife and I, two married guests, received a room with two beds vs other single occupants, one person, in our party receiving a king bed, clearly they had no care for room assignments. The location, and ease of local pub access was the reason for two stars vs one. If you’re looking for a local hotel, look elsewhere.

This hotel was randomly chosen for a family celebration. Not sure the exact reason why but was glad to visit Donegal as had not been in a while.

The price of the room for 2 nights was nearly €600 which was quite pricey for what is a relatively basic hotel. The hotel itself is off a busy road but walkable to Donegal town. We arrived at 3.10 none of the rooms were ready as check in isn’t until 4, this was fine for us but seems late check in and the lady who served us was quite cold - no offer to store bags or to come find us when room was ready. Nonetheless the rooms were ready by 4. The rooms are big and we had 3 rooms - one had a shower only which was disappointing and only one had a mini fridge which was also disappointing again…more consistency would be nice as all paying the same price. Room was clean, spacious, comfy bed and bright. We were on the ground floor and there was a car park literally right outside the full length window with clear view into the room. This meant we had to keep the curtains closed the entire time. The couple we visited had been there the night before and told us there had been no water for quite a while - they couldn’t shower or flush the toilet…I was surprised to hear the hotel did nothing by the way of apology for the inconvenience.

The breakfast is good and I can’t fault the bar staff service. There were a lot of children at the hotel, but little to manage expectations around behaviour…many children were just running and screaming around the bar until quite late and even down the corridors on both evenings we had children running up and down playing and screaming (quite late and early morning).

We booked dinner one night and were disappointed to not be in the restaurant but instead on the top floor of the bar. This is where breakfast is served and there was still jam on the floor from breakfast.

Overall I think this hotel is way overpriced for what it delivers. It has little personality and generally a disappointing experience. There are so many other options which was more unique and offer more. I won’t be returning.

We were 'greeted' by 2 dour ladies at reception. Both did not show the slightest bit of interest or enthusiasm. We were allocated room on the ground floor/basement-dark with a damp smell. The main problem was with the shower...a trickle ...with no power. I complained to one of the dour ladies on reception..who informed me that she would contact 'maintenance' This gentleman arrived and agreed with us that this was not working. We were subsequently offered another room in the basement...which even had a worse odour...dampness. After some protestations we got a really nice room on 1st/2nd floor.
So check the room before taking it.
My main gripe was the Receptionists and their attitude.
The 'maintenance' man turned out to be a waiter in the restaurant and the 'sommelier'...so obviously Mill Park were getting great value from this 'talented' man. By the way he was a gentleman and the 2 dour ladies in the reception could take a lesson from him.
The hotel uses the same menu every night...and they call themselves 4*....will not be returning as the prices are exorbitant and poor value.

Hotel itself is bright and clean. We had a very nice meal in the restaurant, friendly staff. Wine list had red wines labelled white and lacked quality and disappointing choice of beers (all big brands no local craft beers). Breakfast was appalling however. Nothing fresh. Fatty bacon and congealed eggs left out for people to help themselves. No ability to order anything. Standard breakfast cereals. Porridge looked like it had been boiled for a week. Having had a good meal with local ingredients the previous night I was expecting a lot more, particularly as this hotel is not cheap. On that note, €299 for 1 night I would expect some bottled water in the room and not to be directed to buy some in a vending machine!

Donegal means rain, it also means rip off tourists. Best to avoid the county if you want a pleasant (and less wet) experience of Ireland, if you do want to take in Donegal, there are better places to stay than this.

This hotel is outside of city center about 15-20 minute walk. The rooms are spacious and the bathrooms are large and nice. The rooms are so large the small window does not cool off the room as there was no AC and only a small fan. The beds were comfortable. As we were with a group they required everyone to eat breakfast together at the same time which was a huge no for me. They charged $10 pp for room service in the morning.

I would not stay here again.

My partner and I stayed in a superior room here for 3 nights, and it was an almost perfect stay. Highlights of the property include huge, renovated rooms with fridges and free and replenished water boxes, reliable water pressure/temperature, strong internet, free and safe parking, all at a 10 minute walk from Donegal town. The staff was professional and helpful, and despite weddings taking place on 2 nights of our stay, our sleep was not disturbed. Breakfast had a good selection and quality, and you could tell the staff worked very hard to get everyone their hot drinks, toast, and keep everything replenished. At this price point, there were a couple small issues that I would not have cared about at a budget property. The room has a smart tv, but ours did not work. We tried to fix it ourselves, and failing that, called the desk. They sent someone promptly, but he did not know how to fix the issue, and left. The desk made no further attempt to help or sort things out. Also at this price point, an in-room thermostat would have been very helpful; while I do not expect this at a b and b, this is a hotel, and our room was uncomfortably warm at night. We did open the windows, but as there are no screens many flies got in. Having the pool is a wonderful amenity, but there were very few chairs to lounge around in and read, so unless you were swimming, not so useful. All in all though, a very pleasant stay and I would not hesitate to book again or recommend it.
