Great location right into the temple bar area. Very clean rooms & friendly staff. The breakfast prices are kind of pricey but you get real good breakfast right outside at the next door restaurant. Will recommend definately.

This is our fourth stay at the Clarence and it was as enjoyable as expected. The reception staff are exceptionally helpful, the breakfasts are delicious and it's lovely to see the same staff on duty as the last couple of years. The decor is stylish and understated, the rooms clean and comfortable. The Cleaver East restaurant is well worth a... More

A o night stay which was first class. Spotlessly clean room with quality fixtures and fittings. Can only comment on the food in relation to breakfast and absolutely no complaints there - the continental buffet is as much as you can eat - a good range of friuit and cereals and the usual selections of cured meats and cheeses. The Clearance is a really cozy and confortable hotel that is walking distance from Dublin´s tourist attractions and if you plan to enjoy the night around the Temple, you can find your bed just turning the corner.

Overall a very pleasant stay. The beds were very comfortable, but very noisy outside until 2.00am... Lovely shower, good quality toiletries, very good service. Staff were polite & helpful. I'd stay here again

I really enjoyed my stay here, it was a shame it was only for the one night. Most times when I book a hotel in Dublin I leave feeling over charged for the comfort and amenities offered. Not so this time. The room was a little oddly shaped, but i quite liked it. The mini bar in the room was... More

Just had one night at The Clarence and had to leave early, so sadly never got to experience breakfast there. Room was comfy and staff were very friendly. Parking is an issue however with nearest car park a good ten minute walk away. The location is otherwise very central and handy for shops and restaurants.

This building is lovely from the outside. Sadly the interior is not so. There for a couple of days very disappointed with the hotel in general. Lots of wood - everywhere - which can look nice but it is also cold. And the rooms (especially bathroom) was very cold. Restaurant was ok but not very accommodating and the bar even... More

Thanks for taking the time to review The Clarence. It's a pity that the decor was not to your taste, though I appreciate that tastes can vary greatly and what one guest may find attractive another may not like at all. Even with this in mind I hope you managed to enjoy other aspects of your stay. More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Clarence boasts fifty bedrooms and suites, along with our world famous Penthouse Suite. Our rooms range from Classic through Deluxe and on to our River View and Garden Terrace Suites. Our furnishings are simple: classic Shaker oak, beds dressed in cool white linen, sitting elegantly in contrast to a palate of vibrant cardinal colours, rich drapes and luxe carpets. We aim to provide all the simple needs of our guests and we offer 'round the clock room service and all rooms have complimentary WiFi as standard. Our city centre location means car space is at a premium, but we do have a small underground car park that can be reserved for a small nightly supplement. It is also worth noting that our location does mean that the area can be lively at night, especially at the weekends and while we have taken every effort to reduce noise, it is not possible to block it all out. Please do consider this before booking. Within the hotel complex there are many drinking and dining experiences, from the chilled out bliss of The Study to the super stylish Octagon Bar, the perfect spot for an afternoon cocktail or a laid back nightcap. We also have Michelin star chef Oliver Dunne's Cleaver East restaurant within our walls and we are very proud that Oliver and his team provide all catering at the hotel, so whether it's a late night bite in your room or a Full Irish breakfast the next morning, you know your food will be of the highest standard, made from the freshest produce, closely cared for by Michelin starred hands. In the bowels of our building you will find the luxurious cocktail and food bar The Liquor Rooms, home to Dublin's arts set and the first ROI bar ever to be nominated in the prestigious Tales of the Cocktail Spirited Awards. On our first floor, overlooking the River Liffey lies The Cleaver East Suite at The Clarence, which can be reserved for special occasions, from large weddings to intimate business meetings. ... more   less
