This is such a lovely place just on the outskirts of the city centre, just by phoenix Park. The transport into the city and elsewhere is just on the doorstep, along with a few really good pubs and eateries, without the bustle of Temple bar but with all of the atmosphere. Grainne is a fantastic host and cooks a mean... More

This Bed and Breakfast is great. I highly recommend it to anyone coming to Dublin. Friendly people run this, breakfast is great, recommendations of places to go is very good. Two great pubs across the street. It does not get much better than this. Rooms are super comfortable, big beds, had a fan in the room for me. Bottled water... More

This is a great little B&B! Very much like home. Out of the main part of central Dublin, it is quiet and relaxing. Graínne, our host, was wonderful and makes an awesome full Irish breakfast!(have it) On the occasions that we had to leave before breakfast was served there is cereal, pastry, breakfast bars, fruit, and juice to help yourself to.... My sister & I stayed here for 4 nights and enjoyed every minute. Our host was friendly, helpful and eager to make us feel at home. The facilities were VERY clean and the location quiet. Our host made us sandwiches for our day trips without extra charge or being asked. I would stay here again in a heart beat. Great... More

This tidy guesthouse provided clean, comfortable lodgings near the lovely Phoenix Park. Breakfast was great, the bedding was nice, the room was quiet, and I always had nice hot showers in the morning. All in all, great value with enough personal touches to make for a memorable stay.

Gate Lodge is in an ideal location for visiting Dublin. A short 15 minute walk to town, and close to Phoenix park and tram/bus/rail links. Close to a couple of good restaurants (Ryan's steakhouse recommended). Grainne ideal host, very friendly and helpful. Nice breakfast (traditional Irish) and she was happy to pack us up a sandwich when we had to... More

I was at the Gate Lodge for a couple of days and everything was fantastic! The B&B is in a good location, not far from bus stops and the train station, near to one of the entrances of the Phoenix Park. The room was clean, well-furnished and very comfortable, as was the bathroom. The breakfast was very rich (i recommend... More

We visited Dublin for a concert and a long weekend in late february. Gráinne and her staff were absolutely great and helped make our time an absolute blast! It was no problem to arrange for a vegan breakfast for me, while my girlfriend was enjoying the full irish one. The room was nicely furnished, very comfortable and absolutely lovely. The... More

Faithful Travel Buddy (me 72, her closing fast) lodged here for eight nights in late February 2016 at the start of two months independent travel in Europe. This is a terrific B&B: owner and staff are friendly, professional and accommodating. Our room and bathroom were large, well cleaned, offered large windows, tea kettle, television, and quiet nights. Although on a... More

Just back from a stay here & we really enjoyed it. Grainne the owner / manager was extremely helpful and friendly. She made sure we were comfortable and gave us tips on where to eat. The room was spotlessly clean and lovely & warm. Breakfast was very tasty & filled us for a day of exploring. I would definitely book... More
