Nestled in the heart of Dublin, The Grafton Hotel garners praise for its prime location, allowing guests easy access to the city's offerings while maintaining a peaceful environment. Many visitors appreciate the Grafton for its value, citing the combination of quality rooms and central setting. While the rooms are lauded for being modern and immaculate, a few guests felt constrained by the size and storage. The staff's warm and efficient service is often highlighted, contributing significantly to a positive experience. The hotel's amenities and stylish ambiance receive commendations, though occasional comments about room storage and noise on busy nights suggest there's room for improvement.

Absolutely fantastic stay in The Grafton, I took my mum here for the weekend for her birthday and I could not fault a single thing. The staff were so attentive and couldn’t have done more for us. They even left a lovely little birthday treat in the room for my mum which made her day.

The rooms are fresh, modern and very clean, the beds were very comfy and the shower was excellent with rituals toiletries too.

So much choice at breakfast with hot and cold buffets and loads of space for seating so never felt overcrowded. We had lunch and breakfast here and the food was great!

We went to a show at the gaiety which was only a 3 minute walk away and right beside at Stephen’s green and grafton street. Perfect location and will definitely be returning!!

We stayed at The Grafton for 4 nights in August. Upon arrival, we were able to freshen up and leave our bags securely at reception before heading out for the day. The entrance and lobby to the hotel was clean, bright, and all members of staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming.

When we returned, we originally were sent to the wrong room which left me having to carry lots of bags/cases over to the lift whilst my husband sorted out the keys. The staff member was extremely apologetic and found the correct room number though! When we entered our room it was spotlessly clean and very comfortable, lots of attention to detail (toiletries, tea/coffee facilities, chocolate, hairdryer, plugs, USB ports etc.). As well as this, rooms were freshened up daily which made for a very comfortable return after busy days out.

The reasons I would not rate this hotel as 5 stars are as follows... Our room was near a service lift and our bedroom door had a gap under it. This made our room slightly bright even at night and noisy early in the mornings when cleaning staff were setting up (voices, noise of the lift and trollies etc.) Although, when we put our 'please keep quiet' side of the hanger on the door, we noticed that the noise was far quieter. However, we could hardly hear any noise from the street or bar downstairs which was pleasantly surprising for such a busy location! The lights in the room were slightly strangely connected and we couldn't quite manage to set up just 2 bedside lamps at any point. We also had an intermittent problem with the television but we very rarely had it turned on. The main issue we had was the lack of a wardrobe! For an overnight trip this would have been fine, but it would have been really helpful to unpack for our longer stay. Overall, none of these were major issues but they were just a lot of minor issues - especially when the cost of our stay is considered. The times we thought of mentioning this to the staff seemed to coincide with the reception area being very busy so we thought better of it and these really did not spoil our visit on the whole at all.

Breakfast was delicious... my husband has had porridge every single day for his breakfast for years, and declared this the best porridge he has ever had. There was a fantastic selection of cold meats, cheeses, breads, muffins, cereals, yoghurts, spreads as well as a full hot buffet breakfast too with sausages, eggs, bacon, hash browns etc. This really set us up for our busy days. In particular we want to thank Gary, Liluana, Alberta and Crystal for their fantastic hospitality during our stay as well as all the 'behind the scenes' staff who freshened up our room each day.

Overall, although there were a few issues with our stay, The Grafton is in a fantastic location and has so many wonderful members of staff. The hotel is clean and comfortable and the breakfast was perfect!

As we did the year before, we stayed at the Grafton during Dublin Horse Show. If your English isn't good I wouldn't worry as I'm sure at least one of the multinational front office staff will speak your language. The staff were very helpful from our early arrival to check-out and the manager on duty, Luke, deserves a special mention for service above and beyond the normal. Our room and bathroom were very much as expected and well sound-insulated windows ensured that the view onto the busy street below remained interesting but not noisy. Breakfast was very good but not exceptional and the coffee hot (unusual for coffee delivered in jugs). The hotel could not be better placed with St Stephen's Green and Grafton St a stone's throw away. Dublin hotels are not cheap - after all, it is a capital city - but the Grafton was good value for money. We will stay again.

The Grafton is a modern hotel with all of the electronic amenities. Located on Stephen Street Lower, at the base of Williams Street, a few blocks West of Grafton Street and a few blocks South of Dame, it is in the midst of numerous restaurants and a short walk from tourist sites, shopping, parks, pubs, and public parking.

Three or more breakfast establishments are just outside the door. A solid lunch can be had at several similarly convenient establishments. There are fine food facilities within the hotel as well. And excellent dinners can be had in the neighborhood. And if pizza is your thing, there is a takeaway across the street that is open late and appears exceptionally popular. The neighborhood can get crowded and quite noisy but the hotel seems to filter most of the street noise quite handily.

The hotel is a short stroll from St. Patrick's Cathedral, Marsh's Library, and The Liberties neighborhood. It is a slightly longer stroll to The Book of Kells, The National Gallery, and countless pubs of note and distinction. Dublin Castle, Christ Church, and other attractions are equally convenient.

The staff are friendly, efficient, and most helpful. The rooms range from cozy to something just short of roomy. That said, the layout of the rooms (we had a split trip with Berlin in the middle) were a bit odd. A leather loveseat from the 90's was a fixture in both and served no real purpose other than to crowd the narrow desk and chair. Like so many modern/refurbed hotel rooms, no enclosed storage/closet, just exposed hangers on a multi-purpose wall feature (with an ironing board?!).

The bathrooms were clean, stylish and functional, mostly. Flat bottomed shower stalls (trust me - in years past this sort of thing was not to be expected at hotels in the city) with lots of hot water and great water pressure were welcomed (while the controls were not at first discernible). The mirror situation, however, was hysterically bad. No normal human could shave, apply makeup, or conduct other reflective activities as the bathroom mirrors, round light rimmed affairs, were located at odds with logic. So too the floor to ceiling mirror located at the end of the loveseat, was of little practical use.

Absent the mirror nonsense, the rooms were very nice if unremarkable.

When next in Dublin, should our usual haunt remain under refurbishment, I suspect we will again stay at the Grafton.

We spent four nights at the Grafton Hotel in Dublin on our first trip to Ireland in early November 2023, as a group of four adults in two rooms.

We booked last minute as the hotel we had booked months in advance had some issues with wanting pre-payments the day before our arrival, so we cancelled and changed to the Grafton.

Firstly, the location was perfect. Later on on our first day we saw where our original hotel was located, near to Temple Bar, and we were all so relieved that we had changed to the Grafton. There were shops all around us, a very nice, pleasant but buzzy atmosphere and a fantastic pub directly opposite where we had night caps and listened to live music each evening. The pub was the Hairy Lemon and I highly recommend it if staying at the Grafton.

Check in was quick and efficient and we were quickly shown to our rooms. We had booked two Deluxe King rooms as they were apparently larger and according to their website came with coffee bags, which we much prefer to regular instant coffee. My husband and I were shown to our room and were very happy, it was spacious with a lovely view of Dublin from the high floor.

Unfortunately, the other couple that we travelled with were not as happy as their room was considerably smaller than ours but even after discussing it with reception, there was nothing to be done as the hotel was fully booked and apparently it was the same room category. No discount was offered which was disappointing.

When we went to make a coffee with the coffee bags they were nowhere to be found, only instant sachets. Upon asking reception no-one had ever heard or seen the coffee bags, so for some reason they hotel has published a photo of an amenity that does not exist. The photo is still on their website. The only other issue with the rooms was the complete lack of storage. As we were there for four nights, we would have liked to unpack a little, but it was impossible. There was no shelving or drawers, no wardrobe, only an extremely small hanging area that was half filled with the iron and ironing board. At most we could hang four tops between us.

Other than those issues though the hotel was wonderful. The front desk staff were knowledgeable and efficient, breakfast was fresh and tasty and service was very good. As mentioned earlier the location was also ideal and we were able to sightsee the entire city on foot with no problems at all. The best part was the wonderful pub over the very narrow street. The Grafton did have a bar, but the pub was far more “local” with excellent live music.

We had a great time at the Grafton Hotel. It has been refurbished from the last time I was here and it is definitely an improvement. Gorgeous scent in the foyer and in the hallways upstairs. Service was very good, particularly from the resident northerner Gary and a very helpful blonde lady in the restaurant who assisted my mum who was in a wheelchair. The room was the best assessible room we have been in and we have travelled all around Ireland. Sometimes you can loose the luxury with a disabled room but we didn't feel that this time. Room had a fridge, and lovely Ritual products. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice. Lovely touch from Gary organising a breakfast treat for my mum who was 70 on the day of our stay. Only negatives were the location of breakfast down some steps which wasn't ideal for a wheelchair user who doesn't like to draw attention but the staff were very helpful. Great location and Drury St carpark was great at €16 for the night. Would highly recommend.

Dear Jane We really appreciate you taking the time to give us your positive feedback on TripAdvisor and for sharing your experience. We're delighted to hear that you can see the improvement after the reopening of the hotel and your mother was comfortable with the room. We pride ourselves on our staff's service levels and it is lovely to hear that Joanna and Gary were able to assist your mother down the ramp into the breakfast restaurant and surprise her with a little breakfast treat. Our accessible rooms are a great asset to have and being able to accommodate people from all walks of life is very important to us. I apologise if the steps into the breakfast restaurant were an inconvenience, but I'm glad the team were able to make up for this and that the parking in Drury street was handy and inexpensive for you. We really hope that you get the opportunity to return to us in the future, please feel free to reach out to us and let us know of your return. We would love to welcome you back with open arms. My family with young children had a lovely stay at this hotel. Everyone was very nice, and we felt completely at home. The hotel itself was very clean. The beds were comfortable and inviting, and we didn't hear any outside noises in our hotel room. The children loved the bunk beds found in our large room. The best part was breakfast though, which had a generous selection of food that looked and tasted delicious. Liluana, who waited on our table both days we were at the hotel breakfast, is an absolute gem. She always greeted us with a friendly smile and put smiles on all of our kids faces as she made them feel completely at home with her cheerful demeanor (plus hot cocoa with a generous serving of marshmallows!).

We stayed at The Grafton twice during our trip to Ireland, once on our first night and again for 3 nights at the end. We really liked the hotel. It's perfectly situated in the centre of Dublin, and pretty much anything is within walking distance. It's just a short few minutes to Temple Bar and all it's bars, restaurants and shops.

The hotel is very modern and stylish, and our Deluxe King room was a comfortable size for two. Staff at reception were very friendly and helpful. Parking was a breeze in the Park Rite on Drury Street which is across the street from the hotel. Validate your ticket with the front desk for a good discount when you pay in the garage.

In our first stay, we had a room facing the small street on the west side of the hotel. It was Friday night and despite the very boisterous atmosphere on Drury St and in front of the hotel, we had no issue with noise. On our second stay, our room faced the main road in front of the hotel. On the Friday and Saturday night, a considerable amount of street noise was audible, but a pair of earplugs did the trick just fine. There was virtually no street noise on the Sunday night.

We did not eat at the hotel but there is a full restaurant, and a coffee bar begins service at 7:00 and I think 7:30 on weekends.

Overall, we had a wonderful stay and wouldn't hesitate to book again.

Great hotel cannot fault! Staff very courteous. breakfast was fantastic really really well set up, food and service second to none, the only minor thing which I don’t particularly mind but others may complain is the breakfast area is quite dark. I actually like this as the last thing I want to do after a good sleep is be blinded by daylight or bright rooms. I would definitely stay again. There is convenient parking, central location, staff were attentive without being too close and comfortable rooms.

The room was incredible, very spacious and exceptionally comfortable.
The location is great but the 2 things that set this hotel apart are the staff and the breakfast. We were welcomed by Christos and he made myself and my colleagues relaxed, he was extremely organised with room keys ready and waiting which helped with speed on checking in.
The breakfast is fantastic I recommend waking up hungry though as there is plenty to sample and again the team serving are super welcoming and friendly.
We will be coming back to this hotel next time we are in Dublin without question.

The staff at The Grafton arranged for our taxi to the airport. We did not have to leave that early, but I’m sure they can help. Absolutely everyone at the hotel were very helpful.
