Welcome to Bellgrove. We take great pride in our home and try to make each of our guests feel as comfortable as possible. Born and living in Dublin all our lives, we take great pride in our city and have vast knowledge of what our city has to offer our visitors. We can tell you the do's and don'ts of Dublin. Bellgrove is a bungalow with no stairs or steps and we have one room with private bathroom for wheelchair users.
Came here and stayed for a week in September 2016. Paul the host/owner was very helpful, relaxed and friendly. The breakfast was always fresh and Paul even helped me out by calling for cabs when I needed it so I didn't rack up a big phone bill as I traveled here from Canada. I will come back here again if I come back to Dublin. The neighbourhood is also quiet and safe and there was nothing to worry about even while walking alone at night. There are a few convenience stores and a couple of grab and go fast food joints near by and the Dart train to take you to downtown Dublin isn't that far away either. My only small complaint was the room was a little cold and drafty at times but the bed was a little springy but it was comfortable and clean. Book here if you want an economically priced B&B and your own private space that's quiet. Paul will not disappoint you. He's been tipped lots and he deserves every Euro he gets. They do have a cat and an Asian girl living there but they won't get in your way.…

A good cheap option to expensive hotels. It's not in city center, great when you come from airport. There is a bus station in front of the b&b to city center and lovely howth. If you like it quiet, this is for you! Breakfast is lovely and irish or cereals etc. There is a nice cat, which if you are lucky you can spot.

Clean, good breakfast and easy to get to city. Bus stop outside of property. Nice, large pub 10 minutes away called The Beachcomber. Internet access good and emails etc. Host seemed fine to me. Cats were friendly, area seems to be good, a church and school nearby.

Like most others have said this B&B is average at best. A bit small but I slept fairly comfortable. Has simple shopping and dining a short distance away from this property. Don't expect to much and you want be disappointed. Paul can be helpful which is a plus for a B&B in Dublin. Breakfast is simple but tasty and is from 7:30 to 9:30 so don't sleep in to late. Public transportation is also fairly convenient. This property would rate about three stars as regular hotels go. Have fun!

Basic but warm and friendly, easy to find, great location with loads of buses passing to City Centre which is approx. 15/20 mins. Communal Tea/Coffee area. I didn't have breakfast as I was a room only guest, will stay again!

My son and I stayed in November. Clean room and bathrooms, area is quiet, transit tight in front, cafe/drugstore/pub/grocer a couple blocks away. FAR from city of Dublin. Breakfast was good, only offered 7:30p-9:30 so if you wanted to sleep in you were out of luck. Walls between rooms are paper thin so that is not always great. Host not terribly talkative or friendly. Could have used some info about the area. If you are traveling on a budget and don't want anything fancy, its the place for you.

Simple but nice and quiet place. Nice host. Nice breakfast. Nothing special but will do the job - you'll have place to stay and sleep on a budget in Dublin. One tip for what to do in the area. If you like to get away from Dublin, walk to Killester train station and take the train to Howth town - this will be end of the line. From there you can spend the whole day: walking on the trail around peninsula with good views of the sea and enjoy nature. Take fish and chips lunch. Enjoy small town charm by the sea. When you take of the train station - you'll see a visitor information booth - take a map of the area with trails - it'll show you what to do.

First the positive. The place was clean and the plumbing works although the shower spray is quite light. Another positive is that they turned on the radiator heat at night. I cannot comment on the breakfast because we had an early flight and could not stay for it. We suggested to Paul that maybe he could pack something we could take but he ignored the comment. He showed us our room, gave us our key but after we paid him because we were leaving early in the morning that was the last we saw of him. The accomodations are adequate and if it were a youth hostel would be quite good. There are vitually no ammenities such as kleenex or soap/bath gel for the shower. The towels were old, a bit ragged and musty smelling. The hand towel would serve better as a rag. The fasteners for the grab bar in the shower were somewhat rusty. The bed was adequate (full/double) but sagged in the middle. My wife and I stayed at seven bed and breakfasts during our two week vacation. This one would be in last place. We did not experience the glowing reviews we relied on.…

We stayed here one night before our St. Patrick's Day tour started. We slept well and walked down to a local pub that evening after a long nap. Breakfast was good and the owner gave us a drive to our hotel in Dublin. Very nice and worked out great!

I stayed for two nights in a single en suite room. Everything was nice about my stay. Room was clean, bed comfy, shower hot, breakfast very tasty, owner super cool and helpful. I stayed wo car, but the bus stop is literally right outside the bnb. Didn't go into Dublin nighttime, so no idea about how the buses run at night. Bellgrove is in Killester on the way to Howth, the bus runs there.
