We thoroughly enjoyed our three night stay at Ophira BnB. Built in 1849, with lots of period features including ornate fireplaces, it was an atmospheric place to stay. You could easily imagine stepping out of the front door and taking a horse and carriage ride down to a steamer at the pier. Of course with a character filled residence don’t...

We stayed at the Ophira on both ends of our trip to Ireland. While the location was convenient for access to DART into Dublin, the accommodations were very basic and the beds very hard. We had different rooms on both occasions and had issues with both. The "power shower" in the first room unaccountably quit offering hot water halfway through...

Stayed two nights in Dun Laoghaire to tour Dublin. We arrived at Ophira at 7:00 AM after an overnight flight. Despite the early hour, John O'Connor welcomed us warmly, gave us a parking space for our rental car, made us tea, gave us a place to freshen up and directions to the DART train station so we could begin our...

We stayed in Dun Laoghaire to avoid the bustle of Dublin and Ophira was the perfect place to stay. A short walk to the DART station, friendly pubs and shops. John and Cathy provide us with a comfortable place to crash after our flight and the next morning filled our stomachs with a generous excellent breakfast, and shared their insights...

We stayed at Ophira B&B for two nights while visiting Dublin. It was a perfect choice. Easy access on the Air Coach from the airport and quick trips into Dublin on DART. Dun Laorigaire is a charming seaport town to return to after a busy day downtown. The proprietors are warm and friendly and the breakfasts are amazingly delicious. I've...

The O'Connors are wonderful hosts. The rooms are clean and comfortable. They had the best mattresses that we slept on during our entire trip, so we slept soundly. Breakfast was yummy and filling. Since we had things to do in the area and our cab for the airport wasn't until later, John let us leave our bags in the hall...

John O'Connor was a great host. The place is clean and quiet. Breakfast was around a single, large table that allowed the guests to interact easily with one another. It is close to the DART rail line that gave easy access to Dublin.

I had forgotten how nice it can be to stay in a B and B. The O'Connor's were lovely hosts. It was our first stop when we arrived in Ireland and we received a warm welcome. John provided information and suggestions which were very helpful. It was easy to find and just a short walk into the village. The bus...

This was our first trip to Ireland and because our flight from the US put us at the Ophira front door around 6:30AM we rousted John out of bed, but he was wonderfully accommodating and we were headed for Dublin, after a cup of home brewed coffee, via the DART by seven. Breakfasts were well prepared, John & Cathy excellent...
