We loved our stay at The castle - the grounds are beautiful and our host, Karen, was very friendly and welcoming. We spent a lovely night in beside the fireplace reading up on the history of the grounds and the castle itself and searching through the library - so much history here . Our host also arranged a nice dinner... More

I wish I had packed my tiara. This place was fantastic and the owner was very welcoming. All the rooms we could hang out in made me want to move every ten minutes, but we chose the library. It was so cool to have options in this beautiful location. The view from the bedroom was gorgeous. Walking around the grounds... More

Stayed one night in the castle. Karen was wonderful. Met us at the door when we arrived. We had full access to the main floor rooms. Almost too much room for 5 ladies staying one night. We did not cook in the kitchen although we did have full access and it was stocked. We had a great time reading about... More

During our trip to Ireland, we wanted to stay at a Castle, and the Kilcolgan Castle certainly fit the bill! The host (Karen) was wonderful! She was very friendly and made us feel very welcome. The original castle itself dates back to the 11th century, with additions in the 1800's. The history of the Castle is very interesting and is... More

My two friends and I booked a night at Kilcolgan Castle through AirBnB and it was the highlight of our road trip across Ireland! The grounds are absolutely amazing - situated on a sleepy river complete with chickens, horses, and very friendly dogs. The castle itself is stunning, with some parts of it dating back to the 11th century! But... More

My family and I loved getting to know Karen, her animals, and the beautiful grounds of Kilcolgan Castle during our two-night stay. Grizzly, Karen's collie, is a blast and loved playing catch or racing us from the castle to the stables. Karen also introduced us to her stunning and loving greyhounds. We especially enjoyed spending some time at the pony... More

We had the pleasure of spending two nights in this extraordinary environment, Karen is so welcoming and gives a great tour of the castle. Tony brought our 4 year old down to meet Panda the pony and go for a little ride, while the kittens and hens played around us. The view from our room was breathtaking and a unique... More

Kilkolgan Castle was absolutely fantastic. My two adult sons and I stayed here for three nights and four days. The grounds are beautiful, and the location is perfect for seeing Country Galway, Clare, the Cliffs of Moher, the Burren, Galway. Karen the owner was wonderful. She brought us fresh eggs from the hens outside. Moran's, a fabulous seafood restaurant is... More

This is a once in a lifetime experience. Karen is a warm and welcoming host. Upon booking our stay, we arranged for a catered gourmet dinner. As we arrived the oysters were being shucked by Diarmuid from Kelly Oysters. Did I mention the oysters were fresh picked that day? Whilst dinner was being prepared, we toured the castle grounds. The... More

Beautiful castle and child friendly, stayed on the top floor. Rooms a decorated to what you would expect. Kids loved the place. Loads of animals on the grounds, for children to see and interact with. Great stay, and will go again.
