This place has a lovely view from the rooms and is well appointed. But we had two nights of no hot water and the breakfast while good was not as indicated on the web site. We also had to pay 10 Euros a night for parking. While this detail (change to breakfast and parking) was supposedly provided on the web...

We have been going to Galway for years, this is by far our favourite , and has become our number one place to stay. Our sociable personable intuitive host so anticipated our needs, 'would we like her to book dinner etc' . Beautiful quality artisan food - cheeses /ham/breads etc for breakfast in a very nicely appointed dining room looking...

Right on the "Long Walk" which is in at least half of the water pictures you see of Galway. Excellent view and a 4 minute stroll to the center of the Latin Quarter. The Herons Rest is quaint and comfortable. But the best part for me was my hostess, Sorcha. So full of sunshine.

I stayed one night at the Herons Rest in this weekend to attend a concert held at Galway Cathedral. The location is perfect access to town centre, the cathedral along the river as well as seaside promenade towards Salthill. In addition, the area is quiet with peaceful ocean view. So the location is very different from noisy...

This was our third time staying at the Heron's Rest and upon checking out we immediately started discussing when we will return for our fourth visit. Even in December, the view from the room is spectacular filled with swans, cormorants, and the heron, along with the ever-changing, epic tides. The rooms are comfortable and well appointed with the coziest of...

This B&B is the proof that home is a feeling instead of a place. Great atmosphere and care, I was travelling alone and I felt great. I found a relaxing atmosphere and kindness. Absolutely recommended!

This June it was thethird time I stayed at the Herons Rest. First time was with my mom and granny, second and third time on my own - and it always feels like coming home! Yes, the single rooms are a bit small (the right one feels bigger than the left one) and yes you have to share your bathroom,...

My son and I stayed with Peter at Heron's rest had very comfortable rooms with views of the water- and lovely baths. The breakfast was scrumptious and opulent!! Peter was charming! We could walk to the marina and to dinner and the village. Charming location.

The Heron's Rest is a beautiful B&B, perfectly located, overlooking the Galway Bay, just minutes walk from the city centre and the Claddagh area. Sorcha and Peter are very friendly and willing to help.

-Please note that breakfast is NOT as described on the website. It is just continental. There is no selection of hot dishes, as there is no chef this time of the year (to our understanding, there is a chef only at summertime), so the description is misleading. -No soundproof -Squeaking floor -Small bed -We asked if we could leave our...

In Galway City centre The Herons Rest lies nestled on the banks of the river Corrib over looking the traditional Claddagh harbour. This idyllic waterside location is only 3 mins from the hustle and bustle of the centre of town and the 'craic' of Galway's Latin Quarter. Each cosy chic bedroom has stunning views overlooking the Claddagh Harbour and the famous Galway Bay. Outside the water is teaming with wildlife such as, otters, herons and the largest colony of mute swans in Western Europe. We call it 'keeping it country in the city'. Ethos Our philosophy at The Herons Rest is to ensure our guests get the most out of Galway and its locale. We enjoy providing a home from home experience and strive to share the best of the west with you.
