I agree this does not really qualify as a B&B. If you're looking for the cozy, warm experience of talking to a local, having breakfast with guests and getting some more personal interaction, this is not the place. There's a receptionist who checks you in and out (like a hotel), breakfast is an additional cost (like a hotel), and you...

We stayed for two nights in a twin room. The room was comfortable albeit small and the bathroom could do with some heating in the winter. But the accommodation is perfectly acceptable for the price paid. Clean and in a good location.

We booked Amber Hill as it was close to the city center for a decent price. Our stay was average, the beds were a bit uncomfortable but the room was clean. A big disappointment came when we inquired about breakfast the next morning and were told that it would cost extra. Fine, but I thought this was a B&B? The...

Hi Joanna, Thanks for the review. All our rooms are sold (room only). We do not hide this and it is clearly stated on all websites and booking siites. When you made the booking it would have been listed and you would have had to accept the terms and conditions before a confirmation would be sent. We are sorry that...

I booked the two self catering cottages here last year with 8 friends. We left the house in spotless condition inside before we left as we were very impressed by the accommodation at the price. I rang to book it this year again same date and they said they can't take bookings? We cannot find any were else as we...

The little Chalets you are speaking of were already booked and occupied so when you tried to book them this is what you would have been told. Did you really expect us to ask the people to leave because you were planning on returning. No one would hold rooms for a year on the off chance that the people who...

I was a little restricted on budget and searching for a reasonable but comfortable B&B in Galway; I'm very happy to say Amber Hill ticked all the boxes. At just €37 per night (excl. breakfast) it's a good price. I booked a single room but was given a double room at the top of the house. Bed was comfy, room...

I would not be able to understand all the 5 star reviews for Amber Hill after my own recent experience, had we not stayed there two years ago in three lovely rooms. This time both rooms we booked were absolutely terrible. Barely any hot water coming out of the sink, the bathtub clogged in the second room, and an overall...

Yes I remember you said you would write a bad review unless you were allowed away without paying your bill at all. I guess the other properties caved in and thats why they got more favorable reviews. From time to time we get people who check in, stay for 3 or 4 nights (all smiles), then on check out play...

This is a large B&B with several rooms as two houses have been joined. We stayed here for 2 nights. It's located on a quiet street but it's a bit difficult to find if you're coming by car. The room was nice and comfortable and so was the bed. The bathroom was rather small and there was nowhere to put...
