Located just near the lovely city park and the museum the castle hostels is a no-frills bargain hostel offering dorms of 4, 8, as well as à few doubles. From what owner Stephen said, it can welcome about 40 people. We stayed in a 4bed dorm, rather small but ok, the shower was a little worn-out but clean. The 2... More

We arrived on Sunday 5 August 2012, were warmly greeted by the owner, given loads of helpful local information, a basic spotlessly clean en-suite room with TV & SUCH a comfortable bed. Continental breakfast is included in the price, & well-equipped modern clean kitchen if you want to cook more food. As hostels in the area go, this one is... More

Aileen and Stephen are helpful and informative hosts. They will bend over backwards to make you welcome. They are sympathetic to tired, wet bicyclists and provide safe, accessible storage for your bikes and gear. The rooms are clean with towels provided. Breakfast is also supplied along with many extras such as milk, coffee, sugar, bread for toast and condiments ....... More

No major complaints about this hostel, and it has some really good points. On our first night, we found that the room we had taken was double-booked, so we were given a four-bed dorm to ourselves instead. (I didn't like the way the owner said that we wouldn't be charged extra for the privilege!) However, we didn't mind, as all... More

Stayed here for two nights before starting our hike on the Dingle Way and two more after the hike. Steve is a great host. He agreed to store our luggage for us while we hiked the Dingle Way. Rooms are slightly cramped but unless you plan to stay in your room all day it's not an issue. The dining area... More

this hostel was great, rooms were a little packed, but they were comfortable and towels provided. i did think though that the price was a little expensive, but it was clean and had better reviews then the other hostel in Tralee. the guy from finland was friendly aswell.

This hostel was fairly quiet when I went in October 2010, which was nice, The rooms were fine and clean and the washroom was large and private, which is good. The only problem was the water pressure was very low - so the water was barely coming out at all, and I couldn't figure out how to get the hot... More

We booked a double room in this hostel after reading good reviews on this site. But when we arrived the room was so dirty we had to leave and stay somewhere else. The bed, shower and sink had hairs (all sorts) all over them. It seemed like the room hadn't been cleaned at all. The hostel owner was very polite... More

My friends and I stayed there for 2 nights and were really happy with the choice of our hostel. The people who work there are very friendly and make you feel at home at once. they also helped us to book a tour to the ring of kerry, which was really helpful and well organized. The rooms and bathroom as... More
