One of my objectives in Ireland was to sleep in a castle. Ballyseede was wonderful. It is situated on the outside of Tralee. The common rooms are relaxing and beautiful. Tea and coffee in the common rooms are complementary. Our castle room on the second floor was suite size and royal feeling. As mentioned, there are no lifts, so plan... More

A lovely building with beautifully decorated rooms and an impressive entry and staircase, complete with suit of armor on the landing. Our room is very spacious, on the top floor, unfortunately no lift! Toilet flushing was an issue, only one good flush out of it, but this is pretty typical of older buildings. Bathroom is very nicely fitted out and... More

Ballyseede Castle is a wonderful place to stay when touring Ireland. We stayed in the Lodges which are a bit more modernized but our room was enormous with two separate areas for sleeping and dressing. The people were incredibly friendly and took excellent care of us. We got great advice from the staff on several parts of our remaining trip... More

Great Value for a castle experience. Beautiful property and well appointed room but don't set your expectations too high. It's hard to pinpoint exactly but the small details (older tv with broken remote and broken alarm clock bathroom light annoyingly flickered) added up and lack of staff left us feeling like it could be so much more and just missing... There are no words to describe how amazing this place is. The castle itself is gorgeous, the ambiance is made by the decorations and furniture they have chosen. The staff are what really makes it though. They were there for every request we had. The food, both dinner in the bar (and in the dining room) was to die for,... More

Outside, disappointing ! Garden very poorly maintained, few donkeys in a fenced field. Castle has a plastered finish, needs paint or an ivy . No areas to go for walks & main road too busy & dangerous. Inside magnificent!! Staff so courteous & helpful. Beautiful decorated homely warm reception rooms. Food absolutely Devine.. Bedroom fabulous & comfortable. 10minute drive from... More

If you enjoy baronial opulence and like large dogs, breakfast cooked to order and friendly, efficient staff, then Ballyseede Castle Hotel is for you. The castle was built by the Fitzgerald, Earls of Desmond, but became the ancestral home of the Huguenot Blennerhassett family in 1584. For a castle, it is a cosy residence and yet the stone walls are... More

Everything about our stay was wonderful. It was interesting just to wander the picturesque grounds, get a kick out of the donkeys, and to dine and drink in the pub. We had the family room which was huge (two queens) for our group of four girlfriends. Great shower, nice toiletries, and view. Beds and pillows were just ok, but that... More

We are having our wedding reception at the castle next year and we are just thrilled with our choice of venue. Marnie, Esther and all the rest of the staff are so welcoming, friendly and helpful. The castle itself is just gorgeous and the beautiful decor is in keeping with the era of the building. We have been for lunch... More
