The moment you step in the door you feel the warm welcome from the receptionist, everything explained and the offer of mulled wine and cake was a lovely bonus The rooms are of such a high standard feels so luxurious and warm shower so hot and powerfull
The best part of this hotel is their restaurant where the food is expectional and of such high quality and so reasonably priced . Can't wait for our next visit to this gem of a hotel.

She who must be obeyed and I were waiting for this new hotel to open and of course try it out. It's location just off the town center and next to the Garda st created a little doubt as to its standard . However as you enter you could easily be in a beautiful boutique hotel anywhere in Europe. It's modern but cosy. The dining area / bar is on the small side but it's design with the open snugs and warm fire gives you a feeling like a big hug. The staff are professional yet friendly, warm and intimate but not overbearing.. We came here twice to check out the breakfast and the lunch. The breakfast was perfectly cooked, timely and delicious. I had the full Irish and the real boss the breakfast Bap. Now the Bap had all the contents of my Irish only vertical. This caused us some giggles as I watched her try to deconstruct it. Generous to a fault .and reasonably priced.
Now there were only 8 to 10 people so we were curious as to how they would cope for a Sunday lunch. On we came on a wet and windy Sunday at 13.30. we were practically alone only 3 or 4 other couples. That makes me nervous. Usually a sign that the food is not great. So Duck for the boss and fish for me. We couldn't really fault it. If I was nit picking the fries should be chips ,real hand cooked chips. Other than that a good experience. So why on both occasions is it so quiet ?? We can only conclude that the secret is not out yet. Friendly , efficient staff Beautiful boutique hotel Good food Great value Well worth the visit

First time for a stayover in Tralee and had no clue which hotel to pick. I am glad the James Hotel popped up in my google search because it is defintely a lovely hidden gem! Newly refurbished, cozy and modern. The bed was very comfortable and had these light underneath that looked like it was floating in the air! Really loved the small touches like the lavender spray near the bedsidetable, the earplug and I think the most loved feature is the yellow rubber duck in the bathroom! We went to the bar and it had a lovely atmosphere, especially during the weekend there is live music however we couldn't hear any noise, its well soundproofed. Staff was very lovely. I would defintely recommend the place and will come back if around the area. Keep up the good work!

We stayed here for 2 nights (family of 4 adults). The hotel is very nice, modern and sophisticated. We were able to get a rate that included breakfast in the morning. The staff was friendly and accommodating. We were placed in a room that was handicapped accessible, although we did not require it). The room was quite large and the layout provided each of the queen sized beds to have some sense of privacy. The bathroom was large (I suspect the layout may be different than a non-handicapped accessible room) and there was just an open space with a shower head. Due to this fact, the bathroom would get very wet after each shower but we made due with the towels on the floor to sop up the extra water. The beds were very comfortable. There were plenty of outlets and charging outlets. The extra little details provided were great—a little rubber duckie, a lavender pillow spray, toiletries locally sourced in Ireland. The one thing that was broken was the coffee maker but since we had coffee provided at breakfast, we didn’t complain. Overall, a great hotel in a central location to the Dingle peninsula and the Ring of Kerry!

We stayed one night in the James Hotel and it exceeded our expectation. The hotel and bar/lounge has been recently tastefully renovated so everyone is new and clean, bedrooms a fair size with a modern large bathroom. We had one drink in bar which had a nice vibe, cocktail was complimentary and very well made. The next morning we had a great table service breakfast with all staff and manager very friendly, I would really recommend it as a weekend stay.

We had such a lovely experience here! The location in the town centre makes it really easy to pop out to the local shops & restaurants even if it's drizzly outside. Although the cocktails & music in the joining bar are so good that we didn't feel like wandering too far! Our room was beautifully decorated with a very comfy bed & big bathroom with a huge shower. There was also extra touches like the sleeping kits which made our stay feel extra luxurious. Staff were so welcoming & helpful although my boyfriend struggled to understand the Kerry accents! Can't wait to come back!

Dear Laura, Thank you kindly for such a glowing review, I'm delighted to hear you enjoyed your stay and our cocktails. Our sleep kits are a James Hotel special, I'm glad you liked them and I hope you took our lovely pillow mist home with you! I can't offer any advice on understanding the accent however, maybe he needs to return to us for some more exposure to the accent... he might even pick it up! I hope we get to welcome you back to Tralee in the future. Kind regards, Eimear

Went to the James Hotel for breakfast. Lovely hotel, lovely setting, nice bar. However, the breakfast experience I had with my wife and kids was poor. The service was very slow even though it wasn't busy. I received my toast 15 minutes before the fry up that I ordered arrived. No cutlery! Had to butter the toast with a spoon! My daughters pancakes were all burnt on the bottom and at 12 euro for plain pancakes with Nutella I would expect a lot better. No water for the table when the food came, even though I had requested it when our order was taken. The beans with my fry up were cold. My daughters "plain" bacon bap was covered in relish even though she had requested "just bacon, nothing else".There were 1 or 2 other small things as well but on the whole the food was only average and the service was poor. I love to see new business's in the town and I really hope the James Hotel does well but the service and the quality of the food has to improve.

Went to the Bridge Lane dining area of the hotel and had lunch with a family member. I have not stayed in the hotel but am reviewing the bar/restaurant within the hotel! On entering I noticed some tables had been vacated but had not been cleared or cleaned of the dishes etc of the previous customers. I chose a table that was available and clean. I ordered a vegetarian option and my companion asked what was the roast of the day. No price on the menu and the price was not visible/displayed-waitress indicated it was e20. My food was just satisfactory and my companions found his meat option tough and just about edible. On payment he was charged E32 for the roast of the day and not e20 as advised. The food he got was grossly overpriced and certainly poor quality.

Had lunch with a friend today in the bar/ resturant. The place is absolutely fabulous but thats where it ended for us. I had the fish and chips and I only eat one piece reluctantly the second was raw. I told the girl and said take that back to the kitchen its not cooked. She took it and never returned to offer something else or to apologise for the unacceptable dish I was served. My friend paid the full amount and the girl said she didnt realise we were complaining . This member of staff had no training what so ever so I don't blame her entirely but its not good enough. I know its new but look after ur customers if you want them to come back.
