I stayed in this hotel overnight last night as i had to work nearby next day but am not from the area. The hotel is really nice, staff are friendly and very accomodating and prices for stay are very reasonable. I originally was not going to book due to needing to leave the hotel before 8am for work and breakfast only starting at 8am, however upon ringing the hotel, they were extremly accomodating and said they could arrange continental breakfast to my room instead, which they arranged upon arrival for quater past 7 and was very plentiful (cereal, orange juice, pot of tea and three slices of toast with marmalede and butter and jam provided), it was very nice. The room was very nice and was very spacious with double bed and two singles in which i really appreciated, very clean and airy, and bathroom was also very clean and had towels, hand soap and miniture body wash provided. There was a hairdryer and also coffee/tea making facilities also in the room and was stocked well which i was grateful for. I did have evening meal upon arrival as i had arrived to the hotel after 7pm, the meal i chose was a turkey and ham with mash and veg, which was lovely, however, there was very little of the veg and mash but meat was plentiful. I also had desert and tea, i had apple pie which was very yummy. The resteraunt is well layed out and the hotel are complying well with covid measures, plenty of hand sanitiser and staff all wearing masks. I enjoyed my stay and if ever in the area again would gladly stay here again.

Stayed here for 2 nights in July with my 2 daughters, great deal on lidlbreaks. Checked in and nice modern reception/lobby area. The staff are excellent here, nothing was too much trouble. Trish and Jennifer were two of the girls on reception and there was a couple of other girls and I didn't get the names of but they were lovely as well. Very nice bar and restaurant staff for, very accommodating. Hotel is spotless clean and I felt very safe in it as was the first time of staying in a hotel since Covid.

Food was excellent really good menu selection, breakfast cooked fresh to order, there's plenty to choose from. We had our lunch on the day we arrived and we had our dinner that night in the bar, very good value for money for the kids meals in particular.

The view is outstanding from this hotel of the surrounding hills and mountains, really spectacular. There is also a nice outdoor seating area as well outside main reception.

My only gripe would be we were staying in the older part of the hotel and the rooms were very noisy, probably just not soundproofed that well. We could hear toilets flushing, bathroom fans on, people walking around, even I could hear the man upstairs snoring! However I did say this reception and the girl was lovely and said the next time we are looking to book to give them a ring and request a new room. Other than that I couldn't fault this hotel and I am definitely coming back, a gem in the heart of Kerry.

We called in here without a reservation last Sunday. The staff are very welcoming. The bar is divided into booths with some tables near the bar counter. We felt really safe, everyone was abiding by the restrictions. The menu is extensive and very reasonably priced, there is a great variety to choose from. The food itself was fab, everything we ordered was really flavoursome. We would have no hesitation recommending the food here. The hotel itself is in a lovely setting, and what we saw of it was spotless. We will be back.

In October I came to this hotel for a family wedding reception. The views overlooking the Tralee countryside are spectacular, to say the least. As a wedding venue, I think it is ideal due to the spacious reception, dining hall and bar. The waiters laid out the tables beautifully and the three course meal was delicious. Good venue for a live band to play and the dining hall soon turned into a dancehall. Even though I can't comment on the rooms because I didn't stay overnight, another guest showed me their bedroom and I thought it looked dingy and dated, a bit like those 1980s package holiday hotels you'd get in Spain. So, I was glad not to have been an overnight guest. Toilets looked grubby and old-fashioned too. They could have been cleaner. A mixed bag to be honest. The hotel is also literally in the middle of nowhere. I stayed in Killorglin, which is quite a bit further away from Tralee and taxi fares are very expensive to get there at €50 for a single journey alone. There's nothing nearby apart from the glorious Irish countryside. Not a place I would choose to stay as an overnight guest, but an ideal venue for a wedding reception and other events.

This was our first post covid lockdown stay in a hotel and overall the experience was good and we would definately stay again. It was just an overnight for purposes of seeing family and the hotel is a good base for touring Kerry for sure. We had previously visited for a wedding which was a very good experience with its lovely function room and food and views. This time we stayed in a small family room. The aspect of our stay that was disappointing was our room in that it was ok but quite plain, small old tv, small double bed, and at back of hotel, ground floor with a view of a wall only. The hotel has amazing mountain views to the front from other rooms and the breakfast room, terraces etc. We were on an online deal which was extremely good value for a july weekend stay so perhaps this is the reason we allocated one of the less attractive rooms. And with covid many rooms are plainer due to taking away of extra accessories. It didnt bother us much as we were only overnight not watching tv or spending time in room but I would not have wanted to be there for a weeks holiday. The other aspects of the stay were excellent. The staff were friendly and efficient. The breakfast was lovely in the amazing setting on the first floor with large windows looking over the mountains. It was all served to the table and very enjoyable. With two small kids, buffets are difficult and I could actually enjoy just sitting still and eating rather than multiple trips to a buffet. It was plentiful and tasty. The bar is nicely decorated and we had a booth by a front window for an extended family dinner which was very private and socially distant. The menu is extensive. It was very relaxing. It was so nice to be able to dine and have a post dinner drink again. The hotel was busy but quiet in room. I would stay again as the hotel offers very good value. For longer stays for a family with kids, it would really benefit from an addition for them, such as a small play area either a room inside with games or outside or both. As there is no pool or other amenities, should the day be bad or just to amuse kids while waiting on dinner etc. The hotel is out of Tralee town but a good base for a holiday as there is so much nearby the area.

Myself and my girlfriend stayed here for 5 days, due to covid we used my starting college in tralee as an excuse for a staycation.
The hotel public areas were kept immaculate plenty of hand sanitizer dotted around and one on every table in bar and breakfast area.
Breakfast was on the ball every morning and the chap serving it was brilliant, i had leave early every morning so i found the 8am serving time just a lil tight for me. The missus got the full use so all good.
Dinner in the bar was smashing although I had one small issue that was quickly sorted out and at no ill convenience to me.

The hotel seems a mix and match of old buildings and new builds but it added to the character to it, the room was flawless, good strong power in the shower. Anything else was a bonus.

Will definitely be back before the term is over. Thanks for having us

We stayed here recently for a one night break away. We were allocated a ground floor room near reception. The room was facing the back of the hotel which didn't have a lot of natural light but was compensated by lots of lighting choices in the room. The room was a decent size, with a comfortable bed and a shower over the bath. The room was spotlessly clean.

The hotel is located just a couple of minutes’ drive outside the town of Tralee and is less than a 10 minute drive to the beautiful beaches of Banna and Ballyheigue. The hotel is on an elevated position and has lovely views of the surrounding hills.

We ate dinner in the downstairs bar in the evening and the upstairs bar for breakfast the following morning, both meals have to be booked in advance. Book early for breakfast as popular sitting times were booking out. Food was exceptional on both occasions. We were also able to enjoy drinks in the bar upstairs after our dinner. You could also opt to eat outside as there is plenty of sitting.

I have no hesitation in recommending and will definitely return.

I stayed two nights two nights with my family.

The rooms were clean and in good shape. I found the bed nice and comfortable because I like a hard mattress. Rooms optimised for wheelchair users do not have bathtubs. So if this is important to you make sure to ask for one.

The internet access did not work all the time. But it was fine most of the time.

The food in the restaurant was perfect fine, although not special. It was good value for money. They kids menu was excellent value and there was a good selection.

The website for the hotel shows a photo of a swimming pool. But there is no pool. I was aware of that before arriving. But I could see how others might be disappointed.

The hotel is in a nice location out of Tralee town. There is nothing nearby. But if you are travelling in the area it is a good spot.

Overall we were very happy with the rooms, the food, and the price. We would stay here again.

One thing that did concern me was that while we were eating a customer at a nearby table was puffing on an e-cigarette in plain sight the whole time. That was off-putting while trying to eat. You want to eat in a place that takes the law seriously and prioritises customer safety. If this behaviour was acceptable in plain sight it made me have doubts about what I couldn't see. We didn't eat there the second night.

Couldn't say enough good things about my experience here. Service top class, especially by sophie she always warm and friendly and couldn't do enough for us. Covid 19 restrictions were all managed and adhered to and made us feel safe and everywhere was clean. HIghlight has to be the food, we dined in the bar and everyone was delighted with their meals, great menu, quite unique and not your typical basic menu with good variety for everyone especially with some fussy eaters and my partner being coeliac. Best dishes by far are the short rib and teriyaki salmon 10/10 and very reasonably priced for the quality. We can't wait to visit Ballyroe again soon!

From check in to check out everything was fantastic. The staff are friendly and helpful and the rooms are spacious with everything you could need.

We had dinner in the restaurant 3 out of our 4 nights and every meal was delicious and great value for money. The breakfasts were also excellent.

The hotel is in a beautiful location and is great for exploring the surrounding areas. I, for one, hope to return.

Do request this specially as some of the rooms look out at the back onto a bank. You need a room at the front. However we found the staff very helpful so just ask and I'm sure they'll book the right room for you.
