The view was divine from our window, location was perfect to walk anywhere in city center, parking was convenient, and it was very quiet and tranquil at night. The staff was very nice, only thing we thought needed upgrading was the room decor, they did not fit the look of that historic era in which it was built. The curtains...

Butlers is a fantastic location in Kilkenny and probably attract a different client to your stag & Hen weekends. The staff on reception are really friendly and accommodating. The rooms are large and clean and comfortably fit up to 3 people. Breakfast is served in the Public Cafe/Restaurant across the courtyard, its a nice walk but you will get wet...

While I agree, the carpeting could be updated, we found the room very comfortable and well appointed. The one thing I would insist on is reserving a room facing the garden. The first night we were unable to secure a room on this side and our accommodation was noisy and disappointing. We were upgraded due to some plumbing issues in...

There were three of us and the room was very spacious and comfortable. The grounds were great with birds chirping and flowers in bloom. The Butler House is part of the Kilkenny Castle; it is a dower house which was used as a residence of the widow of an estate owner in this case the castle. It is similar to...

The greeting and staff were very nice and gave good recommendations around town. I only given three stars because the rooms, while very spacious, felt very out dated and a little odd. Like you were sleeping in someone's large cottage that hasn't really been used in a while. The garden views is very nice. However our curtains didn't quite work...

Butler House is the perfect location for exploring Kilkenny Castle, Kilkenny Design Center, downtown pubs and restaurants, and more. The gardens are serene and spacious. You walk through the gardens to the Design Center where a delicious breakfast is served. There are craft shops to explore (handmade jewelry, pottery, Aran Sweaters, etc. The castle is just across the street from...

Our recent visit to Butler House was one of the most comfortable and relaxing holidays ever. We booked the Presidental suite, which consisted of a large bedroom, comfortable modern bathroom, large living/dining room and very adequate kitchenette. The breakfast, served in the fantastic Kilkenny Design Centre was sumptuous and we did enjoy our short amble through the beautiful walled garden to go get fed...

We had a very nice stay. Walked to everything and breakfast was great. The garden area was beautiful. Had to figure out how to work the shower but it's just because it's different in the USA. Overall great stay would highly recommend!

Amazing view of the castle and overlooking the impeccable garden. Clean spacious room and amazingly helpful staff. Included breakfast was one of our best meals. It's in the design center and the restaurant opens early just for hotel guests. Homemade scones and full hot breakfast with self serve yogurt parfaits. Solid coffee and perfect tea. A must for Kilkenny stays!...

This is a very old building, recently renovated, in the centre of Kilkenny. The bedrooms are very comfortably furnished and our bathroom was huge and spotless. If you have one of the bedrooms at the back of the house you are looking out over the wonderful garden. However, I found it totally impersonal and soulless and without any character. The...
