Wonderful experience in a strategic location in Kilkenny. Kind attention from the hostess, the junior suite cozy and confortable.... a pretty view from room windows - a large and charming park... That's it! 😃👍

Kilkenny was our last stop in Ireland before returning to Dublin for our flight home. The Butler House was the perfect finish for the trip. Originally, the building was the home of the Earls of Ormonde. After an extensive renovation a few years ago (seen in photos on the walls of the flights of stairs) it now consists of a...

Wonderful reception and central to many sights. You must look carefully for where to turn to get in. We had presidential suite which was two very, very large rooms, and include a small kitchenette and bath. Much more room than we would ever need, but nice. This is a very, very old place, so lots of squeaky floors and doors....

This hotel was one of my favorites on the trip last October (2014). It is in the heart of the beautiful medieval city of Kilkenny, right across from the castle. I recommend getting a room that overlooks the garden and castle rather than one overlooking the city street. It was perfectly quiet, and we loved looking out at the castle...

Butler House was a nice place to stay but was definitely not one of my favorite's on our trip. The house has a very interesting history and is very old, but it feels old...it had a smell and stale air that was hard for me to get past. It's in a great location, right downtown and next to Kilkenny Castle...

I wish I had the name of the woman who was working the evening of June 13th, 2015. She deserves a raise & is your model employee. A friend and I were traveling around Ireland, booking places to stay as we went. Our phones didn't work as well as we'd hoped and we had to wait til we arrived to...

The hotel by itself is comfortable, with large rooms and superb bathrooms. What made it special is the proximity to the castle, that you access by walking through a walled rose garden. Staff was also very helpful.

Great location in sight of the Kilkenny Castle! This B and B is close to numerous restaurants and near most of this town's great tourist attractions. The place itself is rather pedestrian. Our room was non-descript, though the bathroom was nicer than average. We asked for a feather pillow, and there were none available--only foam. The temperature in our room...

The Butler House hotel is located across from the Kilkenny Castle, it is a lovely combination of tall majestic windows and winding staircases and sparkling large bathrooms with tubs and glass showers. The garden rooms have windows that open to a medieval garden with shaped shrubbery, rose filled alcoves and a oval reflecting pool. The scents were gorgeous and the...

My husband & I stayed here just one night, mid-April 2015. The hotel is an oil historic building, & while it reflects this, it's obviously been redone to modern standards. The hotel is close to all major sites, easy walking. The room was spacious & comfortable, the breakfast very good. The staff was very friendly & helpful. The grounds in...
