Stayed 2 nights in beautiful and peaceful Lough Gur Desmond Lodge. The rooms and beds were very comfortable and clean with lovely views of the countryside. Bridget was an excellent hostess, she gave us many helpful tips for planning our day trips and making the most of our short time. Breakfast is outstanding and the tea and biscuits every afternoon... Lovely lodge facing the lake. Bridget is most hospitable and helpful, on top of her bubbly and kind disposition. The beds are most comfortable: firm mattress, fluffy pillows, clean and luxurious linens (high thread count) making it our best sleep during our trip. The cooked breakfast is very good. There is a pub just down the lane which serves good... More

I am not sure if Limerick is the right place to stay in if you wish to explore the Ring of Kerry and the south western part of Ireland. Perhaps Killarney might be a better choice. Anyway my family and I spend 2 nights in Desmond Lodge B+B in the outskirts of Limerick and we have no regrets. Desmond Lodge... More

We couldnt have been happier with the service and comfort that Bridget supplied at Desmond Lodge. Exceptional breakfast, spotless room, and Bridget has a lot of local knowledge and is very proud of her adjacent Lough. The Lodge is in a lovely position overlooking the Lough with lots of bird life. We wish we had the time to stay longer

This was by far our best B&B experience we have ever had. Bridget is a wonderful and warmhearted lady and took great care of us. When we arrived I was sick due to some bad mussels. Bridget took care of this with traditional Irish medicine. This was more than you can ever expect from a B&B. The breakfast was delicious... More

Desmond Lodge at Lough Gur is a wonderful accomodation and the hostess Bridget is exceptional. As a decorator, I can be fussy about my accomodations but Desmond Lodge will not disappoint. Great food, great location and just a special place.

Desmond Lodge in beautiful Lough Gur, County Limerick, is one of the nicest B&B's that I've visited during many trips to Ireland. Contributing to Desmond Lodge being special is its location looking out over Lough Gur, a magical place with ancient stone circles, neolithic wedge tombs, and a historic museum at the lake (open during tourist season). But the key... More

A very particular place to stay. Desmond Lodge is an enchainting place in front of a peaceful lake in a lovely green landscape. The owner of the B&B was very kind and helped us in everything we needed, starting from the information to reach the place up to our wishes for breakfast. Remember the GPS doesn't find this place... follow... More

We stayed in Desmond lodge. The standard of accomodation is excellent. We booked it at the last minute, the hostess was so friendly and helpful nothing was a problem, the location beside the lake was spectacular and the breakfast was very wide and varied. All in all a great stay and if we are in the area again it will... More
