Having won a gift voucher for dinner, bed & breakfast for this hotel, we travelled to Drogheda from Naas on 30 January 2016. The hotel is a former school converted into a hotel. It is a beautiful building with plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy a drink outside during long Summer evenings. The hotel inside was warm and inviting. Staff...

We stayed here last night with a deal rush voucher, dinner and breakfast were very good and staff all lovely, unfortunately our room was terrible, it was very small, bed was very uncomfortable and room was cold, the bathroom tiny and overall very cramped.

The good.... I stayed one night at Scholars and found the public areas quite beautiful - elegant, warm and quirky at the same time. The staff were friendly and obliging and organised a late-ish supper for me as I had been delayed elsewhere. The breakfast was very good and served in the lovely dining room/restaurant. The not so good..... I...

I stayed here recently and after following the sat nav down numerous roads and wrong turns I finally arrived at the hotel.on first impressions I thought what have I let myself in for. However I was to be proved wrong the minute I stepped in the door. The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming and the hotel has so much...

Stayed for just one night, as we were attending a family function in the town. Room was small but perfect, spotlessly clean, comfortable bed and had everything you need in a hotel. Lunch in the bar was good value and delicious. Breakfast was also excellent. The best though was the staff, from check in to check out. Nothing was a...

Let's get it out of the way. Yes, the rooms are small. But wow is this hotel, wonderful! This hotel oozes old world charm and grace. Darkly paneled walls, rich tones, chandeliers, opulent antique furniture downstairs. Upstairs in the rooms it is more of the same. My room as said, was small, comfortable bed, steady, wifi, small but serviceable television,...

We probably visit Scholars couple of times per month, sometimes with friends and often with family. Typically, we prefer the casual atmosphere in the Bar rather than the Restaurant but with that said, anytime we've eaten in the restaurant its been excellent. Quite a few overseas work colleagues have stayed at the hotel at various times with some of them...

Booked in for one night around the Winter Solstice (visiting Newgrange) and were impressed by the ambience and comfort of this hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the bar has a great vibe! Why only four stars? - we chose to eat in the restaurant and were a little underwhelmed. Despite using lovely, fresh local produce - in...
