The Riverside Hotel is lauded by many guests for its value, offering affordable rates and picturesque river views, though a few mention pricier amenities. The hotel's vibrant atmosphere, complete with live music and a welcoming bar scene, is a hit among visitors, as is its cleanliness and the attentive service provided by friendly staff. While the comfortable and clean rooms with scenic views are well-received, some guests note occasional noise disturbances. Despite this, the hotel's enviable location near the town center and its overall ambiance make it a popular choice.

We spent one night in this very nice hotel.
They define themselves as a 3 stars hotel with 5 stars. Actually they did better than most of the 4 stars we stayed during our trip
We had a large family room with a nice view on the river. Very good care of the staff, excellent breakfast and very good dinner
I would strongly recommend this hotel for families or if you want to visit Sligo region
Very competitive price in any case!
Congrats to the staff!!!

We stayed in the hotel as a wee treat to ourselves as our wedding and honeymoon were sadly cancelled due to Covid. Upon booking I happened to tell the lady on Reception about our situation and she offered us a complementary upgrade to a river view room which we were delighted about.
Upon arrival the gentleman at reception was just lovely. Happy, friendly, upbeat and warm. Our room was great and the best 3* hotel room we have ever stayed in. It was a good size and impeccably clean, tidy and modern. In addition to this, the bathroom looked brand new with a great sized shower.
Breakfast the next morning was just ok, there were only cereals, a few natural yogurts and a simple buffet Irish breakfast on offer. Some fruit, porridge, danishes and a cheese/ham board would be nice, especially at €10pp.
Drinks in the bar that night were great and there was a good atmosphere with lovely bar staff.
All round a good stay. Unfortunately you can not park on site but there is parking up the road in a council offices car park; it’s only a 2 minute walk and free but doesn’t feel the safest. Though saying there are no review saying cars have ever been broken into so it must be ok! Lastly, with Covid-19 still being about, I have to commend the hotel on keeping their guests safe. They have specific staff who constantly clean and sanitise all public areas including the lift and there are lots of hand sanitisers about and good spacing in the restaurant and bar. Well done and thank you.

We stayed the weekend of 10th January for 2 nights for my brothers 50th birthday, from the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome, on the Friday lunchtime we enjoyed a sandwich in the bar which was delicious and great portion sizes, in the evening we had a meal in a private area and the chef made a cake for my brother, again the food was delicious and lots of it. They also put up some photos on a frame of my brother and family, it was really lovely. Then we had a fantastic party in the bar area with a great band and we danced and chatted the night away. We were late down for the breakfast on the Saturday but the chef Basil was very kind and prepared a breakfast for us. On the Saturday we went round the town and enjoyed a rest before doing it all again. We had a meal in the restaurant and again the food was delicious. The party in the bar was again fantastic, the atmosphere, band and craic were mighty and the owners made us feel very welcome. Really great affordable hotel, rooms are spotless, comfortable beds and fabulous views over the river, I couldn’t fault the hotel and would highly recommend it. I would like to finish off by thanking all the staff and owners for making it such a special weekend with great memories and I look forward to visiting again in the future.

I've been to this hotel many times. The bar is cosy and friendly and the Restaurant is fresh and airy with a beautiful view over the Garavogue River. Both Restaurant and Bar food is simple and very tasty. The rooms have a simple decor and are always spotless. As a Makeup artist i have also had the pleasure of doing bridal & Hen parties at this hotel. Its always has a warm welcoming atmosphere and all my clients always have the same feedback for me, they all "love" it and its "great value for money"
I really couldn't say enough about this place!!

Booked two nights midweek and we were both delighted with our stay.
Staff were very helpful and attentive. The restaurant particularly impressed us. Clear signage for queueing, hand sanitizer available at every table and tasteful glass screens between tables. The food was exceptional so we ate here both evenings which wouldn’t be our usual approach to a hotel restaurant.

We arrived in this hotel on the first day that the general public were allowed in after the lockdown. On arrival we were greeted by a very friendly guy who made us feel very welcome.
The room we were given was spotless and due to Covid restrictions there were no tea or coffee facilities in the room. We had access to disposable cups with tea coffee milk and sugar which were available at reception. We were advised that we could take them any time we wanted.
We ate both nights in the hotel and the food was delicious and well presented. The hotel setting is lovely and we had a room overlooking the river.
The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful.
I would highly recommend this hotel for a stay in Sligo. It is within walking distance of all the shops, bars and restaurants in the area. The beautiful beach in Rosses Point is only a 10 minute drive from here.
However, there are only a few parking spaces within the hotel grounds but you can avail of access to a car park about 300 yards from the hotel free of charge.

We stayed here for two nights. It is located within a 5-10 minute walk to the Abbey Quarter, the main area for socialising.
The room was average sized with a comfortable bed and we had a river view but no air conditioning which meant we had the window open during the night and the downside of the river view was the sound of water of a channel joining the river which in the dead of night was quite loud.
Breakfast was included and consisted of a small continental buffet with a served cooked breakfast. Both were good but nothing special.
Social distancing was in place but there was no added ventilation such as the windows being open which was especially noticeable on the second morning which was much busier.
Parking is limited to about 7 or 8 places in a tiny lot at the front door. Parking is available on the street but is only free from 18:30-08:00 so be aware.

Good place to stay

A large group of family and friends took over the hotel for a long weekend of celebration including guests from the U.K. and US. From the moment we arrived on Friday evening, nothing was too much trouble for staff. Our room was spacious and comfortable with a nice view over the river. People continued to arrive over the course of the evening and we all settled into the bar for a pre dinner drink, catching up with those we had not seen for years, all in a relaxed environment. We made our way into our private room for our set menu dinner (myself and my partner had the garlic mushrooms to start, followed by the goats cheese for me, very tasty, and chicken for my partner). As is often the way with large groups, people moved between tables so staff had the challenge of taking orders and then finding people to serve the food but it was all handled with efficiency and politeness. Later we danced the night away to a band before retiring at a respectable time of 1.30am though many others didn’t leave the bar until gone 4am! On Saturday, we slowly made our way down for a help yourself hot breakfast which was delicious. The cut off time was 10.30am but some guests were a little late, no trouble, the chef rustled up cooked breakfasts just for them. Many guests commented on how homely the hotel felt, staff were not intrusive yet there if needed. A lovely weekend of celebration in a great venue.

After many months of lockdown we paid €156 (room only) for a night away to celebrate our anniversary. We were looking forward to a sleep in and break away from the kids, to our disappointment we were woken with hovering, pulling, dragging and banging. When we asked if the cleaning staff in both rooms beside ours could stop it was ignored. We complained at checkout and we’re told it would be escalated to the manager to contact us - this hasn’t happened! I’d you’re planning a nice away with a nice little peaceful sleep in so not book this hotel! Very disappointing given the cost of the hotel.

Would have given 5 as no parking spaces, I have mobility problems felt that hotel, have a drop of bay for guests. The hotel was excellent we dinded in the bar/restaurant had a dinner which was very good tasty and hot, the staff were very attentive The most important aspect as I sat in bar later was the effort that went into cleaning every bottle on shelf as well as surfaces were cleaned, this made me feel safe. This hotel is out of the main throughfare however I would recommend it, a little gem on the river bank

There are approximately 12 parking spaces in the hotels car park, the hotel also has an arrangement for hotel guests to use the county council offices car park free of charge, this is approximately 150 metres from the hotel. The area around the hotel is generally regarded as a safe area.
