Stayed overnight as a group of 13 to celebrate a 40th birthday. We had booked a celebration package which included the room (which we upgraded) dinner, breakfast and use of facilities. We had also ordered an afternoon tea for 3.00pm. The room - could not fault the room, it was clean and tidy, bathroom could have been a little up...

Booked a double room inc breakfast and dinner. The staff were all friendly, but the kitchen staff and serving staff need some retraining. My wifes simple lunch of a sandwich was wrong!! After the barman couldn't use the terminal to find the right one (and asking someone else) The bar was left unattended several times. Dinner portions were sparse (we...

We received an email prior to check in advising that due to an event, food would not be available that night. No mention that food would be available in the bar so we booked at a local pub and arranged a taxi. Brought this to the attention of the receptionist who was very rude when we suggested the hotel should...

My worst hotel experience in the UK/Europe ever. What is the point of having amazing food when all the rest is terrible ? We had dinner there, we ordered food at 6.30 pm and got the main at 8.30pm it is not acceptable even if the food is good. When i arrived in front of my bedroom door, the door...

I recently attended an 80's night with a large group of friends for a Christmas treat. It was absolutely awful from start to finish, we were served some awful nasty cheap fizz on arrival, our main course was served at 11pm and no one could eat desert by the time it came out. The bar shut early as they ran...

Came here for a xmas do with friends on 2nd December. It was terrible. The service was very slow. We arrived at 7pm and were still awaiting our puddings at nearly 11pm. There were not enough bar staff so long queues for a drink. Also, the bar shut without warning at midnight even though we had booked taxi at 1am...

We had our works Christmas Party here last night. Quite frankly the worst Party venue I've ever been to. The food quality was ok (albeit chucked on the plate) and the place was clean but past that not much more was positive. There were not enough bar staff on hand to serve the 300+ guests. They ran out of glasses...

Start with good: spa excellent would definitely recommend a massage but check the prices first. Rooms a bit faded and sad with cracked paint, old carpet and old a decrepit heating. They are very large though. Restaurant and bar food quite nice but rather expensive but local restaurants are not the best anyway. Bra has some nice beers, and try...

Our wedding was at the end of October. The reason now for this late review is due to how long it has taken for our complaints to be recognised and in their view dealt with. On the run up to our wedding, the wedding planner was changed 3/4 times, even though we expressed our concern about this we were just...

We have stayed here before a few times and although outdated some the décor is original and takes you back to a bygone era, so you forgive it. You could always rely on a nicely cooked breakfast - a big bonus. WHAT HAPPENED! Dusty rooms, breakfast on both days was an absolute shambles, so bad, you had to have a...
