The hotel may be old - Harrogate is an old town and the building is indeed old, however the soft aspects of my stay were very good. Yes the furnishings may be dated, but friendly front desk and bar staff, a clean and comfortable bedroom and ample free parking more than compensated for an old building. Things worked as expected....

Back again to one of our favourite hotels. The Cairn. Warm welcome as usual from the Reception staff. We booked a superior room which was lovely and quiet at the back of the hotel overlooking the gardens. Dinner in the Restaurant was superb, the staff very professional and cheerful. A dramatic night with the fire alarm going off just after...

Stayed just one night whilst visiting the area. Beautiful old building but now in need of major refurbishment. The room however was clean, bed very comfortable and good powerful shower. Plenty of free parking and just a short walk into town. Staff were friendly and helpful. Good selection at breakfast of hot and cold food. Felt very young compared to...

I found the Cairn hotel to be a quaint, clean, friendly hotel. I can imagine it was quite a place in its beginning. The rooms are nice. I had a room near the fire escape with two windows. It was so peaceful, that instead of an alarm, the birds singing woke me. What a lovely treat. Full breakfast with attentive...

I was staying in harrogate for a couple of days to visit family . I booked this hotel kind of knowing it was old but i couldn't find other available ones in the area . Cairn hotel is very conveniently located in the central of town. It looks really charming outside but it's so old that it feels like it...

Excellent value for what we paid, food very good, lovely breakfast. staff very polite and helpful. Suitcases taken to our room on arrival and to foyer on departure. It is an old hotel with creaky floor boards but clean and comfortable with some areas currently being redecorated. Overall a very pleasant stay.

At one time this would have been a very grand hotel. Whilst many architectural features remain of an almost bygone age, sadly woodchip and artex!... now covered over with lining paper are in evidence. A massive hotel in a good location with oodles of parking. The restaurant food menu was upscale and perhaps not in line with my own taste,...
