Food, excellent, as was the service. Extremely helpful lady in reception. Sorry no name but wore a grey trouser suit. If she is not the manager, then why not?? Spa, pool area very good best in Hotel Group. All round excellent!!

I have stayed at this hotel before: and I can understand why opinions vary so much. A lot will depend on which room you get and whether you make use of the swimming pool faciliites. The hotel is owned by Sherrings the coach company and they have lots of coach tours staying which makes for a more elderly clientele. For...

This beautiful old hotel is slap bang in the middle of Harrogate, so having parked at the hotel, one doesn't have need to move it whilst visiting the attractions of this lovely town. It was ideal for anyone wanting to visit the International Conference Centre opposite. The hotel was first class, everywhere was clean. The single room I had was...

This hotel is shabby and dirty. The staff are very nice and welcoming though. Our room was small, cobwebs up the wall to ceiling height, inch thick dust over the door, a freezing bathroom (no heating) with old fashioned sash windows letting a howling wind through. Scalding hot water, horrible shower over the bath with a cheap shower curtain that...

Just come home from a lovely 5 day coach holiday with Shearings coach holidays. The coach interchange was very organised, but there was big queues to get a snack or drink and not enough seating while waiting for the coach to depart. The coach was very comfortable and the driver very informative. We stayed at the St George hotel in...

We was not expecting four star as we had booked a last minute cheap deal with Shearing. The room was tired with no heating but it was clean and there was plenty of hot water. The girl cleaning one of the rooms gave us a wobbly, old heater on three wheels which proved adequate. We were told by the coach...

Thank you for taking the time to review your stay. We do occasionally have functions in the hotel on a weekend, however this was a Dinner with Awards and not a disco.

Run down, mediocre service and poor choice of breakfast. Room was full of dampness, dirty and off desperate need of an upgrade. Breakfast was run on a shoestring with no individual pots of tea or coffe but we spent most of breakfast trying to catch the eye if a server to refill our tea. Poor selection no offer of poached...

Saddening to read your review, you are certainly welcome to request a pot of coffee and indeed a poached egg. The parking at the hotel is reserved on a first come first served basis and we use bollards to secure your space.

Having just returned from a five day break it was spoilt by the Hotel being so cold especially in the bar/lounge area. The central heating in my single room was not working so I requested a heater which turned out to be too small to have much effect. I found the staff very friendly and the varied menu in the...

Shearings hotels can be a bit "hit and miss". This is my 22nd Shearings hotel and I am pleased to report that this one is a "hit". I had a nice room, the hotel is in a good location and the food was good. Why does exactly the same menu and food differ so much from hotel to hotel? It...

Recently stayed at the St George hotel and was impressed by its homely and clean look. Located right near local amenities parking at the hotel is needed as surrounding area was very busy. Parking charge was £5. Bedroom was standard with to, ironing board/iron, hair dryer and tea/coffee facilities. The bed was comfy and room very clean. The room was...
