My wife and I spent 3 nights at the Wharf House. Good location overlooking the Severn and beside a canal – even if it is only ½ mile long. Enjoyable 3km walk into town on mainly paved surface. We stayed in the outside annex, which although a little small had its own entrance without going through the hotel. This proved...

We stayed here for a couple of nights. I was attracted by the food reviews particularly and was not disappointed. Presentation, quality and taste were all excellent, from the unexpected amuse-bouche, through to coffee. I had the mackerel pâté followed by the pork with green beans and the most delicious red cabbage I have eaten, probably ever. Although I was...

A well located hotel, within walking distance of Gloucester centre. Clean and good sized room, fairly quiet. Quite expensive as a hotel and over-priced house wine. A disappointing (vegetarian) dinner with important, stipulated ingredient omitted. Good quality breakfast but service was slow and inattentive (we had to request five times for basic items, despite having selected time and menu the...

Stayed for 2 nights - we had the annex out the back. Nice little room with its own private garden with table and chairs overlooking the canal. Jacuzzi bath was nice in the bathroom and bed was very comfy. Breakfast was nice - but if you order sausage, bacon etc you get one of each so not the biggest! Ate...

The room we stayed in, Dymock, was comfortable, clean with a good size bed. Tea/coffee facilities are available along with free Wi-Fi. Free on site parking is provided and privacy is a bonus from passing traffic. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this establishment.

My husband and I went to this restaurant along with one of my husband's business associates and his wife. We came here early on a Saturday evening after a fab day out at a rugby match in Gloucester. We were really quite excited- having not known Gloucester very well we were assured by locals that this was a really very...

My son and his wife took me and my partener for a cream tea as a mothers day gift. The setting along side the River Severn and canal is very stunning. The restuarant is very nicely set up with about 12 tables. We were greeted by a waitress as soon as we arrived and shown to our pre booked table...

Just called in for coffee and to find out more about the canal trust. Walked around Over Canal Basin; very pretty and interesting. Inside reception there are leaflets and models about the project. Staff were ready to chat about the venture and helpful. The coffee itself was hot and good flavored. The menu looked interesting for lunch and evenings.

We were welcomed as if we were regulars; we sat and had a drink on the 'terrace' over looking the canal. We were shown to our table which was wonderfully laid out everything spotless. The food was sourced locally and tasted delicious. Excellently cooked. We could have stayed all night as when you book a table it is yours; you...

We stayed here for a long weekend whilst exploring Gloucester and visiting friends in the area. The hotel is in a very pleasant location by a restored canal with Gloucester town an easy 1.5 mile walk away. The food was 'very' good and the staff were welcoming making staying here most pleasant. The room was nice and well appointed too....
