Riding in extreme heat in full biker leathers is not the best…but with the wind in your hair their is no better way to enjoy the pleasures of the cotswolds. We had ridden up from the south coast via the old Severn bridge and the Forest of Dean. This Premier inn is easy to find in the docklands area. Located very close to a Sainsbury’s (including petrol station), a beefeater restaurant, Costa Coffee, as well as an array of other eateries and shops. Their is plenty of car parking, but do NOT forget to register your car number plate. We arrived just before 4.30pm - obviously a busy time. Reception staff were friendly and professional, advising us that breakfast would be taken across the car park at the beefeater. staff and guests were all wearing masks and following covid rules. Would this change overnight with freedom day on the horizon? Our room on the third floor was standard good comfort premier inn. A large double bed and sofa bed, tv, hanging space, a well thought out bah/shower room, tea/coffee making facilities, and for this hot season, the joy of air conditioning. Everywhere was spotlessly clean, both in bedroom and public areas. Note that you can always ask reception for extra teabags etc etc, and they are willingly supplied. Freedom day arrived, and we headed downstairs. And nothing had changed. The staff were still following guidelines and wearing masks. And the guests who had exchanged comments with us about wearing hot leathers were all still masked! Everyone’s conversation was on freedom day and the great mask debate - but it meant guests talked to one another about their stay etc. We headed to the beefeater. Breakfast was the standard £8.99. All the staff were friendly and helpful. Cooked would be served to the table, but collect your own continental from the buffet. It was fine for the price, but the cold buffet was a bit depleted. Their was no fruit compote (fab with Greek yoghurt) and a distinct lack of muffins, danish etc. This is a good location modern Premier inn. Value for money. Ok my couple of basic gripes. 1. The car park is big enough to have a designated space for motorcycles. Not shoved round a corner, but visible. 2. The drinks machine was out of order during our stay on one of the hottest days of the year. I know this service is offered by an external company, and the staff had phoned the company to repair…but… 3. The ashtray was located under the staff office window.. did anyone stand there? No..they all made for the bit of grass near but not too near the entrance. Their was plenty of space to put a bench snd an ashtray here. Not complaints…just sensible (I hope) suggestions

We stayed 1 night in a family room as a stopover on the way to Cornwall. Hotel was just as you'd expect from Premier Inn. Staff were lovely and very friendly. We asked for more towels and they arrived straight away. Only downside was the breakfast - pretty poor standard and I don't think their table service really works. The location of the hotel is great. Easy to find and right on the canal Quays a short walk from loads of good bars, shops and restaurants. Would set stay again if in town.

Very warm welcome by manager and front of house. Had a little issue which was swiftly sorted with a smile which goes a long way from English speaking team. Air con a godsend on one of the hottest days of the year. Well done guys the only thing that has disdained my visit was Beefeater!!

The hotel was excellent, new, clean, very good position for exploring docks area, restaurants, shopping outlets, and not too far from town attractions. Staff were friendly and efficient. I used the sofa bed and that was comfortable though the mattresses are very soft. Unfortunately we booked breakfast for our first day. Admittedly we did eat quite late in the morning but the quality of the breakfast was terrible. The bacon in the cooked breakfast had Z half freezing and half hot. The croissant didn’t arrive at all. We put it down to experience and didn’t complain but we should have because later in the day my husband was taken ill with stomach pain and we had to cancel meals out and spent most of the rest of our time in our room because he was so poorly. I had only had one slice of bacon and I didn’t feel well either but maybe coincidence.

Lovely hotel, very central for Gloucester quays, plus mall and lots of places to eat and drink. Great for a relaxing weekend away. Friendly staff, comfy and clean room. Perfect for a couple or girls weekend.
