Beautiful decor and lighting in the cosy restaurant, food fantastic and service was second to none. This place has had a change of management and it really shows. Roast dinner was fab. Can't recommend enough!

went here for lunch with friends, and its many years since we visited this place but it won't be long before we visit again. The roast dinner we had (we didn't eat off the carvery), was excellent value for money, and the meat was very tender and tasty and the selection of vegetables served to us were freshly cooked and...

Booked one night. Needed a place to stop over for work.arrived late (after 9pm). Check in ok, restaurant great - had the best pizza ever. However the rooms are in a very sorry state. Poor old dirty deco, beds basic and old. Curtains coming off the rails. Shower gel holder dirty. Very very poor lighting in going up the stairs...

Went here for a family lunch which I have to say was lovely. We were seated in a quiet location overlooking the outdoor seating area which suited us. The staff were fabulous attentive and Jacob who mainly looked after us was chatty mannerly and great at making us welcome. The other young lady was as good but we didnt get...

Unfortunately this place has to be one of the most poorly managed venues I've been to. Beautiful renovation. Really. And a pleasant space with member of polite female waiting on staff. But alas, the rest gets left there... ...From the wrong information on chalkboards to no information, to pheasant wrapped and served in plastic casing (really), to management with temper...

Came here with my mum group and staff were very friendly and helpful, got us highchairs asked questions etc. Food was lovely, I had the halloumi ciabatta. Nice hot chocolates (don't match the pictures I've seen though?). Decent prices. The only shame being that they don't do pizzas til 4 :(

Went to visit again with the family for some food and drinks. Turned up twice now in about 4-6 weeks and they close the place for private hire. How to annoy the locals off who give them business during the week. Moved into the new housing estate and thought this would be a good local but how wrong. Just close...

Thank you for your review. There are mitigating circumstances that are relevant to this situation. When last year we completed the modernisation of The Lodge, there were a number of weddings that were already booked. We felt obliged as a family company to honour those bookings, hence there were 8 bookings for the whole of 2017 of which 4 have...

Decent rooms, good location, great breakfast and excellent staff! Special mention to the young bar tender Jake. Let us in on a few of his secrets and recommendations in Derby. Would highly recommend staying here if your stopping over in Derby.
