We were searching desperately for a hotel close to Alton towers as we had just checked out early of a disgusting hotel near by and did not want to stay there again, We came across this hotel, £79 for a nights stay with breakfast, basic prices and the reviews didn’t seem that great but we were desperate for a place for the night, However, upon arrival, with great parking I may add, I was so surprised, The decor of the main entrance was absolutely stunning, so many unusual items, it really stood out to me, The receptionist was so polite, checked us straight in and was very helpful in showing us around, We entered the room, which was an upstairs room, and I honestly loved it, So cosey, quite old fashioned but right up my street, A lovely selection of teas, coffee, biscuits, hot chocolates and milk, which I think was very generous, Great facilities, including an iron and board, A tv, and a very comfy bed, A nice hot shower/bath combo, Lovely fresh towels, And a super comfy bed! I slept an absolute dream that night! We had an issue with the shower not working, but as soon as we mentioned it to reception, they were in our room instantly repairing it, There is a lovely bar and restaurant downstairs where we had dinner and a few drinks, the atmosphere is fantastic, the food is incredible (highly recommend the squid and whitebait) and the bar staff were so nice, and an absolute laugh, and they made such an effort with my gins (Thankyou for that)!!! The next day, we went downstairs for breakfast, it was continental style (but you can upgrade for cooked food) We didn’t upgrade, the continental selection was enough for us and very appetising, i loved the selection of cereals and fresh fruit and juices, my partner couldn’t stop eating the fresh chocolate breads, There was one man serving, and he was an absolute delight, kept checking in on us and having a great conversation, really went above and beyond, In all honesty, everything about our experience was 5*, We’re already planning our next trip here! I honestly can not fault anything about this place. Thankyou again!…
Staff are very friendly and helpful, but sadly that's where the positives end. The motel style setup means the rooms are right next to the car park, and can be very noisy at night with people talking outside. Rooms aren't soundproofed at all so very noisy for a lot of the night resulting in a disjointed night's sleep. The nights sleep also wasn't helped by the very uncomfortable bed and pillows. But this is what you get for the price, in all fairness. Very basic experience, expect a very 70s no-frills room and a minimal continental breakfast. Nothing incredibly wrong with the stay, but nothing to make me return at all.
We booked the Littleover Lodge way back in March so we could attend a relative's wedding. We booked through a well known booking site. Whilst we had all the booking details and confirmations, I rang to confirm arrangements earlier in the week to be on the safe side. The staff I spoke to were professional and courteous and more than happy to confirm the booking. One aspect that drew us to the lodge was that they had a check in time of 1pm, ideal for us as the wedding was at 3pm. Upon arrival, bearing in mind we had actually booked 3 rooms, we were presented with the paper work by the receptionist and were presented with 3 sets of keys, the whole checkin process took less than 5 minutes. The rooms were all clean and fairly simple but given some of the reviews on this site, there you no issues that caused major concern and I have stayed in much worse accommodation. On Saturday evening after we had returned from the wedding, there was a fracas outside in the car park with quite a lot of shouting causing a disturbance. However despite that we all had a good nights sleep, just not enough of it but that was due to a long day a few drinks at the wedding. We then came to breakfast and Keith was hosting breakfast and quickly pointed out that the cooked breakfast had an additional charge, something we had been informed of by reception on checkin. 5 cooked breakfasts were duly ordered and when they arrived we found them to be tasty and considered to be a good standard. Overall the Littleover Lodge is a nice small hotel that certainly served our needs this weekend. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. I would without hesitation return to stay here again and I would like to thank Sean and the team for looking after us so well for our brief stay.…
We were given a badly soiled duvet, when we complained the rest of the bedding was not changed and no apology was given. Overall not comfortable with their hygiene standards, it ruined our stay - rooms need revamp and their customer service is very poor. Rooms are not sound proofed and we could hear guests in room below.
Staff all very friendly and helpful. Good breakfast and we enjoyed evening meal. Rooms were very well presented and more than adequate at the price exceptional. Noted is that some rooms were being updated but was not a problem. We stayed for a week and no issues, easy to find off the A38 and no noise. Bus stop nearby was used to visit Derby. Plenty of parking spaces.
This is a very nice place to stay for a night or two. The staff are very friendly and value your custom. Our suite was very comfortable and clean, yeas a couple of things may require a little updating but for around £84.00 per night it is excellent value. Plenty of free parking very easy access. Comfortable bed, the suite was over two floors, which could present a problem with access for some guests. The restaurant offers excellent food at very reasonable prices and the service was superb. Plenty of outside seating as well. The staff at breakfast offered were great as well very welcoming and friendly. We did not experience any noise issues, No hesitation in recommending this nice Lodge hotel
The rooms need a total revamp. They’re very tired looking, basic rooms, the beds had no headboards so there were dirty marks on the walls where people obviously rest their heads, the vertical blinds were broken so not hanging correctly therefore letting light in at night. The bathroom is very dated however the shower was good. The doors and windows let in so much noise, whether it being car engines or people sitting having a drink or walking past - the bar is situated behind the rooms so people have to walk past to get to the bar. The windows really could do with being double glazed. The noise does die down after the bar closes at midnight but ear plugs should be provided! If you’re a light sleeper it won’t be the place for you. The bar was nice, lovely food for dinner and the continental breakfast was great, the staff were friendly. Plenty of free parking. Overall good price but it’s reflected in the run down rooms.…
We stayed for 2 nights whilst visiting my daughter whom recently moved to the area, and this was the closest place to stay. Whilst things are not perfect, it’s clean, the staff are very friendly and helpful, and the food is great, particularly the breakfast! So, yes the rooms could do with being modernised. They are quite dated in their decor. The bathroom is very outdated, individual taps on the basin and scalding hot water mean the easiest way to wash your hands is by running a bowl of water. The shower head needs descaling as not all of the jets work, or they spray at odd angles. But there is plenty of very hot water and shower is powerful. The bed was a bit too soft and bouncy, but bearable for a couple of nights. There was a fair bit off outside noise from people leaving the bar/restaurant, and car doors shutting etc as they are right outside your door, and the window blinds don’t do enough to keep the light out, but a short while after midnight everything settles down. We had a large group in the restaurant for dinner on Saturday evening and the food was very good. The bar is well stocked with good variety and quality brand spirits and beers. The staff were very attentive, and the bill for the meal and drinks was surprisingly good value. Is this place perfect, no far from it, but considering what you pay and what you get there can be no complaints. And just to reiterate, all the staff were friendly and helpful, so yes we would stay here again.…
Loveley Lodge, clean on arrival. Could be updated more but this isn't a put of at all. Staff very friendly and cater to all needs. Bar restaurant area loveley decor and clean throughout. Upgraded breakfast , my only opinion is that £6.50 isn't worth the money for what you get. The scrabled egg wasn't nice at all. The only disappointing part of our overnight stay. Will definitely book again , was a loveley night away in the perfect spot 👌 Would of been a 5 stsr for me if it wasn't for the breakfast.
Rooms need revamp very poor in places and the bathroom need updating petrfiendly, beds comfortable and food was ok The staff were friendly the hotel has 3 star rating on the better side the restaurant and bar were very inviting nice decor and fittings
