We celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary vow renewal here in the York Suite and had an amazing event. We ,along with many family and friends stayed at the hotel , nice clean ensuite rooms, reasonable price . Good quality breakfast . Friendly , helpful staff. Car park facility which is rare for in town hotels and Midland mainline station just across the road so in a perfect location
Check in was quick. The elderly lift delivered me initially to the third floor even though I pressed '2'. The room was along a long corridor with four steps en route. It had a good desk, comfortable Queen bed with Donna and a choice of pillows plus a portable shelf for storing a suitcase. There was heating and an operable windows. No lamp at the desk was a negative. WiFi was fast. There was free tea and coffee plus a tiny pack of biscuits. The bathroom was clean as a whistle and had an excellent supply of hot water for the walk-in shower. Towels were white, large and fluffy. The breakfast had yoghurt, fresh fruit and unappetising looking hot food. The hotel is across the road from the excellent Derby station.
Stay at the Aston court for one night as we were visiting alton towers. On arrival reception staff were very good and quickly got us checked in. The room was nice but did have a bit of a foisty smell when we first entered. Breakfast was very good and plentiful options on the buffet. Good secure car park at rear. All in all a nice stay
We stayed for one night as we were going to a country fair about 20 mins away. We had a great night's stay. The hotel is clean, the staff are lovely and the breakfast is fantastic. Do not just book a room go for the breakfast as well. Close to Derby centre and railway station. We will definitely stay here when we return to Derby.
I booked this hotel because it was near the train station which I needed to use to get to Chatsworth House so it was very handy for me. It is literally across the road. It is not far from the city centre, it took me 15/20 minutes to get there but if you are faster walker, it shouldn't take long and is easy to find the bus station and train station depending on what way you are going. The staff were lovely particularly Jenny who was very welcoming to me when I entered the hotel after a very long, exhausting day. My room was clean and tidy and just the right size for me. I was at the front of the hotel so the noise was constant but I expected that being very near to train station and on the first night, there was some type of road works going on but I still managed to sleep some. The bathroom was a good size, the sink was a bit too small for getting the kettle in but I soon used the glass which was on one of the shelves to fill up the kettle, I also think there should have been a little area in the shower where I could place my toiletries while I washed myself but these are minor things. I didn't have any meals there so can't comment. The only real negative I found with the hotel was that despite having the window open, the room was very hot and I found I couldn't get cool but the weather was very hot outside so maybe when weather temperatures get to that point, maybe have fans in the room to cool them down but I still was very impressed with the hotel, it was cleaned when I was out so I had no complaints in that regard.…
Sadly this hotel were extremely unhelpful when the event which I was attending was cancelled and they refused to waive my cancellation fee . This was very disappointing for me on top of the fact my event was cancelled. I’m sure that they could have considered a refund due to the circumstances which were out of my control-
The hotel is lovely our room was spacious and very clean nice comfy bed ..we had drinks in bar area after our night out very relaxing and comfortable..the breakfast was self service with lots of choice and it was delicious thank you for a lovely stay well recommended . Lovely staff too well be definitely staying again
Stayed here for a work event, met my friend who lives in the area. They walked me back to the hotel and we planned for them to wait for their taxi inside with me (it was absolutely freezing outside and the taxi was an hour wait) and an extremely rude man refused to even let us wait in the reception for the taxi after demanding they couldn’t come to the room. I even offered to pay extra to upgrade the room for the whole night so they could just come inside for an hour and the man was not having any of it and made us wait outside. The woman on the desk earlier in the day was lovely, but due to this extremely rude man I would 100% not recommend. It’s a very budget hotel anyway. Room is dated and not clean, and the lift looks like it should have been made out of use decades ago.
Clean, tidy, well placed and really nice team of staff. Shows it’s age in places or could be sign that halls see high traffic from frequent bookings. Well equipped warm and comfy room. Nice breakfast. Right next to the station and main road but heard no traffic noise
Lovely hotel, clean and quiet. Jenny was fantastic and a great addition to the hotel. Not too far to walk to the centre. Room was extremely clean and the surrounding area was suitable for our visit to Derby. Great place to stay, thank you so much!
