Nipped in for breakfast, served by Ellie she was lovely really bubbly and took our orders. Saw her talk to the chef Steve so if you see him thanks for the breakfast it was so tasty! The bacon was EXACTLY how I liked it, will definitely be back! Thanks again
We booked Sunday lunch, in a separate room, for a 60th birthday party. There were 25 of us, including 10 children. The room was excellent, giving us privacy and space for the children to play. Service was great- getting 25 meals out at the same time takes some skill. The waiters/ waitresses were great, efficient, polite, friendly- even though the rest of the pub was busy and they were rushed off their feet. Food was lovely, all hot and well cooked. For a big family get together we really couldn’t have asked for more. Thank you
We came to your restaurant for a birthday meal. To start the young brunette that waited our table was lovely. Unfortunately we waited nearly 40 minutes for 6 drinks to arrive. When they did get the the table, the cocktails that had prosecco in was flat and not very nice. She soon got this sorted out for us and bought us fresh drinks. We ordered food and we were served by a different waitress. She was rude and you got the impression she didn't want to be there. She wasn't nice when we said that the food she brought out wasn't ours she stomped back off into the kitchen. We then had to further complain as most of it was cold. This was all sorted out by the lovely and very helpful general manager. He sorted it all out for us. We just hope that the staff there can be a little more pleasant next time we come. Pizza was amazing, and the mac and cheese was lush. …
Compared to my last stay in July 21, this one was a huge disappointment, on the plus side was a huge and comfortable bed which helped get a good nights sleep, however there were more negatives than this one positive 1- we were in “snowball” room up in the attic which had a sloped ceiling, meaning that anyone of any height would keep knocking their head on it , and by positioning the sofa on that side of the room was very inappropriate as couldn’t help making contact without contortioning my body when rising 2- and probably more serious was the toilet which to enter you had to go down two steps , now during the day this isn’t an issue but when waking in the night to use it, when you’re still half asleep is an issue , on one occasion I tripped forgetting the steps were there . No doubt at all this is a health & safety issue , and an accident waiting to happen 3- general speaking the room was gloomy and miserable in need of a “lick of paint” I understood they were full on date we arrived 24/12/22 so we did not ask for a transfer , however in order to be transparent they should warn people booking this room of hazards 1 and 2 , which present a real threat to safety I will not go back there as the difference between my visit in 7/2021 and 12/2022 was very different , and for the prices charged you would expect better …
Went for lunch this week and was great from start to finish. Lovely pub/ restaurant with open fires, great food, great prices, and great service from Ellie. Would thoroughly recommend and will be returning,
The Farmhouse at Mackworth is, truthfully, one of the best establishments in the East Midlands. The ambience is second to none, with incredibly efficient and friendly staff - shoutout to our waitress, Ellie, who went above and beyond to make sure our visit was a positive one. The food is exceptional, particularly the rump steak sandwich, which is one of the best I’ve had. There is vast choices to suite any taste bud.. it’s just a shame I was too full to sample a pudding!
We visited The Farmhouse at Mackworth for a meal for my birthday. There were 3 of us (me, my husband and my teenage son) The food was outstanding (we had the fillet steak and my son had a pizza) piping hot and cooked to perfection. Our waiter was Adam N, he was very friendly, curtious and professional. Nothing was too much trouble and he made out dinning experience thoroughly enjoyable.
The food was beautiful and the service was perfect! Lovely location, great atmosphere and our lovely waitress Ellie made the lunch even nicer! Would definitely recommend to friends and this won’t be the last time we visit!
Myself and my partner Stayed over for 1 night in September, The room was very disappointing and looked dirty and needed updating, the carpet needed replacing , walls needed painting and the bathroom was old and tired. The bar area down Stairs was much better.
Excellent food, nice atmosphere and wonderful decor. Had the pizza which was great and very light. All meals were excellent. In fact and the fish and chips seems to be a favourite of many. Isaac looked after us very well indeed - he was courteous, attentive and very professional. I would certainly return
