A stale scruffy place a manager that tells you if you had checked in at 2.30pm you could get a refund but checkun doesnt open til 3pm The reception man eric was dressed like sruff We didnt stay and would avise people to stay well clear
Lovely friendly welcome. Stayed in room 4 Clean decent room, adequate number of bathrooms. Radiators Lovely and warm and kept the room just right. Comfy bed and pillows Lovely cooked breakfast-piping hot. Large free carpark. Easy to find Cheap price - value for money What's not to love. Honestly, some of the negative reviews. What do you expect for the money. Would I stay again-definitely
We cut our losses and didn't stay, the smell was over powering of stale smoke and bad BO. The bathroom is shared and have to go down some steep stairs to access it, mix in that some of the guests are drug addicts and smell bad, we didn't fancy sharing a bathroom with them. We booked into the nearest holiday Inn and left within an hour.
I booked this hotel via Booking.com. I was not able to stay here in the end, so I cancelled my booking. As per the cancellation policy, I was entitled to a full refund. I contacted the hotel to ask when this would be issued, and I was told within 5 working days. I waited and still didn't receive a refund, so I reached out to them again, and I was told that the refund would be issued the following week. This of course did not happen, and after contacting them again, they stopped responding. I've now had to raise this issue with Booking.com directly. It has been nearly a month now and I have still not received a refund. I would certainly advise against booking with this hotel as they are clearly using loopholes to unfairly keep money which is owed.
Found the hotel clean, most quiet and overall very comfortable. The host Paul was welcoming, knowledgeable and personable. The FREE breakfast was plentiful and varied. Excellent value. Hotel is easy to get to from city centre and around £5.90 in an Uber
Drunk man asleep on the bench in the corridor upon entrance. Horrible atmosphere upon entry. The place stank of stale cigarettes. Clothes stank once home. SHARED BATHROOMS. Guy p***** all over our toilet seat. No hot water in the shower in the morning. Whole place needs renovation. The room itself was okay. Would not recommend staying here unless it's a quick stop over for the night.
I wish I had read Tripadvisor before booking. No mention of this on their website, not even in small print. Shared bathroom, but I won't share with you the sights we witnessed, splashed around the toilet seat. Yes, at £110 per night for two, you have to share your wee-wees and stuff and shower with every other guest. But do you know what's the worst thing about Victoria Park Hotel? It has no soul, no smiling reception, no life. Imagine paying to stay in a youth hostel, or Stephen King's town of Maine when the writer's pen is twitching, and your close. Choose your stay, but choose wisely x
If you are offered the cellar...please refuse....it's damp and smells terribly of damp..the dehumidifier does nothing and the air con in the room doesnt do a thing...my clothes felt damp in the morning and as I have underlying chest problems I had to take my inhaler before bed as I could t breathe...the cei is only 6"2 ish and claustrophobic...3 of the ceiling lights didn't work..the wallpapering hadn't been finished...the bathroom which was next door hadn't been cleaned as it was full of publc hair all over the floor..mouldy dirty walls...toilet seat wasn't attached to the loo. The stairs down to the cellar themselves are dangerous all uneven and the carpet is loose. The breakfast was lovely and I was pleased to see the dining room was clean and functioned as it should...maybe because they knew we were bikers they have us the crap room thinking we wouldnt care...I honestly won't be going back there again and warn people to check which room.they have been given…
Very friendly and helpful staff, good breakfast, clean and convenient. Free parking, easy to walk into town. One thing though - they really need new pillows and mattresses, the ones in our room were a bit old. But a good place nevertheless.
The staff is very rude specially the Asian bold head man he started swearing because we was late for check in and he even pushed us out of the hotel wouldn’t recommend any couple to stay there, just don’t
