Went for Sunday lunch with a party of ten, ranging I age from 8 to 80. The staff were great and the food was excellent. We akk had the Sunday roast - some beef, some turkey (some both!), and a couple of lamb shanks. There were no complaints. Simple food done really well with plenty of trimmings. There were lots...

On arrival I gave my name, no welcome just your key is in the door. Room itself was ok, little tv, kettle, tea & coffee making facilities (no cup or spoon, which I'm sure would have been provided if asked for) iron, ironing board & trouser press & En suite. At 2100 I decided to give the food a try,...

Came to the Carpenters Arms, South Marston, not really expecting much but turned up late which Dave was more than happy with, informing me on the phone that the key would be in the door ready for my arrival. Came into my room and was very impressed, lovely and spacious, huge bed and great bathroom with bath tub ready for...

Awful food and awful service, husband and wife owners were rude and made no effort to give us a good experience. Wouldn't ever recommend as not the warm and welcoming country pub food and atmosphere people visiting these types of restaurants would expect

On a previous visit to Shrivenham, a group of us on a business trip stayed at a large chain hotel and wandered into the Carpenters Arms on our second nights stay after we were less than impressed with the "luxury" hotels services. After revisiting the Carpenters Arms every night after this first visit, we felt we should save our legs...

Had a nice meal here last Saturday, the T bone steak good size but was lacking flavour. All freshly cooked and a good potion of the trimmings. The 3 B's bitter was not available which was a shame, this being an Arkels pub and the brewery just down the road i was surprised. Anyway, well worth a visit i will...

Me and my partner were staying at a nearby hotel and decided after driving past this pub numerous times we would go there on our last night of our trip for something different to do. It was the best decision we made the entire trip, the food was delicious home cooked food. The landlady and landlord were the most gracious...
