The Novotel Milton Keynes stands out for its reasonable rates and good facilities, despite some guests mentioning hidden costs and food quality concerns. Service at the hotel is often applauded for its friendly and attentive staff. Cleanliness is a strong suit, with spotless rooms and a well-maintained pool.
While the hotel's atmosphere is welcoming and the rooms spacious, a few guests note the need for updated decor. The location is deemed convenient, yet some guests suggest caution when walking in the area at night. Amenities like the swimming pool and breakfast are popular, although some desire more variety.

First of all let me start by saying the staff here were very friendly and welcoming and I couldn’t fault them. We stayed here for two nights and it was just a basic hotel, matched our needs as it was only a short stay. The cleaner didn’t come to our room but reception sorted that out within about ten minutes so we had toilet roll and replenished tea/coffee. The hotel does have lots of parking and breakfast was included with our room, the breakfast was basic. Personally would have preferred some fruit as there was none day one and then a few apples the second morning. They offered a fried breakfast but if you deviated from that it seemed a lot less care went into it, my partner asked for scrambled eggs instead of fried and they were the driest eggs I’ve ever seen. It was quite busy at breakfast as well so items weren’t being replenished that often. Not really a major complaint but worth mentioning. It was our room that I had a bit of an issue with. The plug sockets didn’t seem to work unless you took things out and plugged them back in about three times - very temperamental. Also there is just no air in the rooms, I struggled to sleep as the rooms were so hot and the fan setting on the thermostat didn’t do much. Great staff but a basic hotel, wouldn’t like to stay more than a couple of nights.

Received a nice welcome at check-in and, having acknowledged my Platinum membership, I was a little disappointed that I was not offered a room upgrade. I stayed 2 nights on a Saturday and Sunday. Sunday morning breakfast was very busy with families and children, some obviously just finished having a swim. Went for a swim late Saturday evening, hoping it would be quieter, but still busy with families and private swimming lessons. I asked if there was any chance of a room upgrade for my second night and reception was very helpful and managed to find one. The executive room has a fridge, complimentary bottled water, coffee maker, Bluetooth speaker and extra toiletries which the standard room does not have.
Monday morning breakfast was much more peaceful with only a few tables occupied. There was a good array of cereals, bread, juice, fruit, cold meats and typical cooked breakfast selection. Parking was free as long as you register at reception.

As per title, not sure why the hotel is open? Started with check in, welcomed ok, however upon getting into the room, pull out bed not made, no remote control, no tea coffee or cups or towels a WhatsApp to reception sorted this out (a very good service) my wife also noticed a small sign suggesting a crossaint for breakfast, now bear in mind I spent £40 from the outset on breakfast luckily we spotted this sign as no hot items for breakfast purely just juice coffee and cereal! They failed to mention this at Check-in which Is poor! I complained and recieved a £40 dinner voucher which is fine but highlighting this for people booking in future. Pool is booked on a 30min slot with a max of 2 slots due to Covid however feel they should have offered 3 slots, limit on pool says 11 on door yet there were 18 of us at one point! General attendance on reception poor, there was never anyone around when needed. Luckily we had eaten out on our 2nd day as there was no chef on the Sunday, restaurant food only from 6pm also, again not notified on arrival (had to ask) shout however to the Romanian member of staff who was serving
Food and drinks, one man team and he was good as we had issues with the food. No draught in two just bottle. The room itself is as ok, the bed was very comfy.

Hi Padwar250, Thank you so much for sharing your feedback, as it is invaluable to our efforts to continually improve the quality of our services and indeed the service that we offer. I am sorry to hear about your experience. Unfortunately the pool door was broken and we could not control that. We did fix this issue and everything is working with more control and security. It is difficult for all of us to come back to the new normality and sometimes we made mistakes, I do apologies for that. The pool it is very popular however due the Government Regulation we trying to share between our the guest. I do understand that this can be inconvenient as the circumstances are overall I will share your comments with my team and I am sure that this feedback will serve as an encouragement to all to continuously improve the quality of our services. We look forward to welcoming you back to Novotel Milton Keynes in the future. Alfredo

When we arrived at around 5pm we were given a key card for our room. We also told that there was a waiting list on the pool and the wait would be 1hour - 90mins. Fine I said. We'll call you they said. On arrival at the room, the keycard did not work so I had to leave my family to go back to the reception. The receptionist came up with me and kindly sorted it out. On entrance to our room we found that it had not been set up for 2 adults and two young children. There were no pillows or duvet for the sofabed so I had to ring reception to sort this out. A man from housekeeping arrived 10 minutes later and rather grumpily took a look and had to go outside ring his supervisor. He came back and sorted it out. Fine. After 75 minutes we still hadn't had a call a out swimming so I tried ringing them myself. Frustrated I went downstairs with my 9 year old daughter and asked how long it would be? She went to look at the list and asked her colleague and I could tell from her body language and facial expressions that we had clearly been forgotten. She didn't admit this and said it would a while longer..."how long?" I asked. "Depends how long other people are" she said. That's not "good enough" I said. A young boy came up beside me, gave his room number and in answer to the same question was told "40 minutes". When I trudged upstairs with a very disappointed child the phone magically rang five minutes later..."The pool is free". Hallelujah! We went swimming and that was fine. I'd promised the girls some lovely hot chocolate in our room only to find we had two mugs between four people.....Never again.

Hi Noodlecat, Thank you very much for you review and I am sorry to hear that the experience was not the best. In School holidays time we have to have a waiting list for the pool as we can not have many people on the pool together for health and safety hope you understand that. The issues with housekeeping is being dealt with the manager already and we do apologize for the inconvenient as this should not happened. Please next time you visiting us let us know we would make sure that you would have great time with us. Thank you very much, Alfredo

Not even sure where to start, but this hotel has been the worst stay ever!!
At check in we were merely greeted, no welcome or any basic PR skills, we were handed key cards that constantly stopped working. But that was just the start of it, the rooms had a terrible stench, the carpet was wet and sticky and so was the bedding, the bathroom had hairs in the shower and hadn't looked like it had been cleaned in a while. The cleaning service didn't bother to take care of cleaning even the basics. The pool was given in half an hour slots per room yet when we booked in for our rooms which we had booked several rooms we only got an hour and they wouldn't give us 30 min slot per room as told and advised. They constantly kept changing what the capacity for the pool was from 6 to 8 then to 11 or 13 then back to 6, they would change it to how it would suit them at the time. My kids were in the pool for their slot and a member of staff kicked us out in the most disgusting and volatile way, saying someone else wants to go in, never have I heard someone speak in such a disrespectful way to another human being never mind a member of staff of a so called family friendly hotel. When I told her we had the slot booked she said if we didn't leave she would personally check us out of the hotel. This was certainly an antisemitic racist attack and a report will be made. After that she ensured to make our stay as miserable as possible, and her language was despicable i think her name was Hamed or similar sounding to that. I was honestly shocked and I sincerely hope the manager who needs to seriously take a look at his workers either suspends them or gets them some serious PR training as this hotel is a shambles in way to many ways, i am surprised they are still open. I would never recommend anyone to this hotel. I sincerely hope something will be done about this as our stay was appalling and my kids gave been left traumatised.

We booked 2 twin rooms for 2 adults. We received one large bed and a sofa in each room. Both rooms smelt damp and dusty. It was awful. The bathroom in one of the rooms smelt of urine, it was disgusting. We complained and were told that it was because all the carpets had just been cleaned. The carpet cleaners should be sacked. The bathroom problem was identified by us. It was the shower curtain and when changed it was much better. The facilities were poor. Two paper cups per room. No soap in the separate toilet so after using it we had to touch everything with unwashed hands before getting to the other room with water and soap that we bought. When leaving we complained again and we were promised a 50% discount because it spoilt our two day visit. I has not yet arrived

I went to stay in the Novotel to meet a friend. It is an annual meet up but was interrupted last year by the pandemic. As always the staff were very welcoming and helpful, and the rooms are spacious and clean. The breakfasts were ok but I had mine in my room as I am seriously disabled, and although they were late each day due to lack of staff the food was good. I did notice this time that they were more short staffed than before but they did everything possible to make the stay as good as possible. Due to Covid at the moment they are not cleaning the rooms every day so you jjst need to remember to ask for extra tea, coffee and milk etc or extra towels.
The only negative experience was with housekeeping right at the end of our stay as we were getting ready to leave who barged into the room of my friend while she was in the middle of a phone call and was very rude to her, telling her she had to leave NOW! The member of staff then proceeeded to start moving some of my friend’s personal belongings including a £6000 violin and dumped them on the bed…We tried to explain (we were in adjoining rooms) that we had been allowed an extra hour for checkout as I am disabled, and that my friend was about to go and get a trolley to help me with my things, but this lady was not interested and continued to be extremely rude, ignoring both of us. My friend then moved her stuff into my room and the lady then wanted to come into my room, but I flatly refused and again explained I was disabled and we were in the process of leaving but I am on a mobility scooter and cannot manage my luggage myself, and I shut the door on her. We complained to reception who were very apologetic and took off the cost of the breakfasts and a big bottle of water I had had.
However, inspite of this incident I would highly recommend this hotel and staff as being of a really good over standard and as we have been there many times before we have never had a problem until now, always enjoying our stays there.

Stayed the weekend with the family. Hotel is nice and clean with a gym, heated pool and sauna which is open till around 10. The pool is ideal for kids as it’s not to deep. Clean gym with plenty of equipment and the sauna was lovely which is right next to the pool so when you come out you can cool down. Breakfast cost 9.95 and kids eat free and it’s eat as much as you like, with cooked breakfast which is edible, cereals, fruit and pancakes for the kids! Plenty of choice. There’s also a bar which we didn’t use but is handy. I’d stay again.

Firstly the good things! The hotel is very clean, quiet and has plenty of parking which is handy as it's a little way out of the centre. Breakfast was decent but a little unimaginative - no scrambled eggs or poached eggs and limited bread options. The staff were all very friendly and polite.
But rooms are basic and the sofa beds are not really for more than one night.
The rooms are in need of some modernisation but the over bath shower is good. The toilet is separate with hand sanitiser which is unusual. There is almost no information in the rooms and no phone either with just What's App access.
Overpriced for what we paid but it was a high demand weekend with a concert at the stadium across the whole weekend. So absolutely fine but not as good as a Premier Inn, unless you want a pool or gym.

Hi there. Hotel will be able to help you call a local firm. I used a taxi to get to the Muse concert. Priced very reasonably
Sorry no ideas as this was not something we needed. Call hotel and ask?
Yes you need to book a time at reception and collect a key card to access the pool.
That was last month so maybe things have changed.
