We are fairly regular visitors (about 3 or 4 times a year) to the hotel and invariably enjoy the setting, the anbience and the quality of the food served both in the hotel itself and in the splendid Walled Garden restaurant. We have noted a surprisingly high turnover level of staff on our last two visits and wonder why this...

My lovely friend decided to treat us to afternoon tea she was a little disappointed that it was no longer in the walled garden but in the hotel lounge but I have to say this did not take away from what was a lovely afternoon. The food was plentiful & included a fabulously tasty little sort of game pie (the...

Attended Dinner dance on February 25th 2017. The Company at the tables was excellent. The service was slow and unorganised. The organisation of bringing the food to the guests was shambolic. There was no one in overall control directing the staff. The food had been held in warming cabinets for far too long so that gravy had dried up and...

Booked direct with the hotel for a Friday night stay. Double deluxe room only. Arrived mid afternoon Friday and used the pool, sauna was luke warm, fitness suite was small but adequate. The rooms and corridors have had full refurb and it is clear that money has been spent here. You sink into the corridor carpets ! The corridor has...

The hotel itself is grand and there was an open log fire which was wonderful. We had a meal in the walled garden - the food was very average. Had been a couple of years earlier and remembered it being really special. Entertainment was a nice touch, however. The room had everything you needed, however shower was not powerful and...

We know Preston well, but needed somewhere to stay whilst visiting friends. Whilst we didn't make the most of the hotel facilities on offer (e.g indoor pool/ snooker table in lobby etc.) we had a really lovely overnight stay. The room was very clean with a pretty view overlooking the garden. There was everything we needed: a kettle with tea...
