The approach to the mill makes it clear that this is set up to be a peaceful stay. Although its only a few minutes from the M6, the Mill is wonderfully isolated. We had no noise at all in the room, which was well away from the restaurant / bar and which had a beautiful view along the canal and...

We have been to the Mill a few times in the past and stayed a few years ago ,we fancied a night away and thought of it straight away as it's not to far from home and they allow dogs (£15).We arrived mid afternoon and checked in ,we were in room 14 overlooking the canal ,it was a lovely big...

I stayed one night, booked at the last minute. I got lost trying to find the hotel, but the reception lady very helpfully guided me over the phone. My room was fairly basic, with a standard size double bed (fine as I was staying alone) but clean and comfortable. I ate dinner the restaurant, which was OK pub food standard....

Meals in the evening were very very good and fully took into account the gluten intolerance, breakfast was lovely two. I feel I have to mention that the food is...

We came across this restaurant during a very soggy walk along the canal towpath from Thurnham Hall,we called in to see if it was a possible alternative eating place to the Hall, a very helpful lady showed us the menu.We were suitably impressed so booked a table for the following night. The meal was very good and the staff very helpful.

Our little dog was made most welcome. Our bedroom was comfortable and quiet. The evening meal was well cooked and excellent value, and our breakfast was good also. We completed our stay with a beautiful walk along the canal bank behind the hotel.

The location could not be better or the staff more helpful, however, there is room for improvement. The room was a bit over basic in terms of storage & stifling hot through the night. Never before have I needed to have a bedroom window open at night in January & I was near scalded by the water from the hot...

Visiting my son at LU, needed somewhere to stay more characterful than other local offerings. 'Only' £12 fixed fare by taxi to university. Mill was excellent value. Place was quite busy even on Monday night. Dinner very good, especially local fare eg hotpot and jam rolly-poly! Breakfast (included) also superior. Room at top of house overlooking canal was full of character,...
