Great location which was why we booked this hotel. Next to Palace Theatre, about 20 minute walk from main shopping in the city, 20 minute walk to Coronation Street tour and Museum of Science and Industry. Room was good - we got a double room with an extra sofa bed, which gave us a bit more room. Shower was great....

We stayed for one night ( we where in town to see a concert) and from start to finish the stay was excellent. The staff are very polite, the hotel is clean and tidy and the room was of a particular high standard. We where allocated a room on the 10 floor which afforded a great view of Manchester via...

stayed one night. I did have to change room because of traffic noise (something i'm not used to) This was not a problem to the reception staff. The hotel is in a good location, near the station, and Palace theatre

Thank you for taking the time to give us your feedback following your recent stay. We do recommend that light sleepers request a room on Hulme Street. I am pleased we were able to change your room on this occasion. Thank you again Jonathan Smith General Manager

Surely it's not just me - does anyone really want to sleep in a room that has no window you can open? The place was clean, the staff were friendly and it had everything you'd need - just no air! Had to run the air con to keep the room cool - in February! Some people wouldn't mind I guess...

Thank you for giving us you thoughts on out hotel. I am sorry that you did not like the fact that we have windows that do not open. We have got floor to ceiling windows in all of our rooms and these do give some fantastic views over the hills of Cheshire and the City of Manchester. Thank you again...

This is the second time I've stayed here within the space of 2 months. On both occasions, I've ended up in the same room, on the tenth floor. Not sure whether this is a complete fluke or whether the hotel booking system recognises you at the time of booking and attempts to put you in the same room as last...

Thank you for taking the time to give your full and honest assessment of our hotel. We do allocate rooms for our IHG Rewards Club members and this could have bee the reason that you were allocated the same room. I am sorry that you experienced problems with the Air Conditioning system. Once reported the problem should have been picked...

My brother and I stayed here for one night in January as he was attending an interview at the University of Manchester. We arrived at the hotel, after a 5 minute walk from Manchester Piccadilly, around 9:30pm. I was immediately suprised at how modern and nice the hotel was! We went downstairs to check in, the receptionist was very welcoming...

With so many hotels to choose from and not wanting to spend an unnecessary amount for a one night stay, we decided to book the HI Express. Not having visited Manchester before, we thought a reliable chain hotel was our best option. Ideally located between the University and town centre, we really could not fault the hotel in any way....
