The Reception staff were quick polite friendly and efficient. The staff driving the shuttle service were great helpful, polite and friendly ( Jim was a delight! how can anybody be that cheerful and helpful so early in the morning?). However our experience was let down by the restaurant. We wanted a quick bite before getting our heads down for an early morning flight so we ordered 2 salads and one prawn cocktail and chips. 40 minutes later still no food despite asking a couple of times. Iwhen it did eventually arrive it came without the one portion of chips we ordered! we ate the salads which were decidedly average before the chips turned up 10 minutes and 3 requests later ( the restaurant was not even half full) does it really take their kitchen nearly an hour to do a prawn cocktail caesar salad and 1 portion of chips????? work out how long you will be waiting for a cooked meal! The waiter was oblivious each time we made an enquiry re our meals he didn't seem to think there was a problem - he would disappear and return without them and without a reason or even a simple "sorry the kitchen is busy" or "sorry we are not very good at this salad lark" Put Jim in the kitchen at least he knows a thing or two about customer care.
No way its 4 star only stopped here for convenience next time its premier inn ... even though youve paid as a guest hundred odd pounds a night they still charge you £15 to park the bar prices are a joke 1beer 1 wine 2 pakets if crisps £16.10 ....will i stay here again ... WELL you stand more chance of finding a snowball on the sun so NOPE ! rip off !!!
On arrival you are bombarded with questions and forms to fill in from everything including what your eating that evening. The rooms are the same as it used to be when it was called Bewleys.....apparently change the name and go from a 3* to a 4*. But the worst was still to come, we went to the restraunt and went for the al a caurte menu. We sat down at 6pm and at 8m food arrived. When it arrived it was a joke. Mine simply inedible. The rest of are party were also very disappointed but we had to eat. Cannot just walk out to next doors restaurants at a airports hotel as nothing else around. The manager came and explained there had been problems in the kitchen and never charged for the food. But the whole experience was a joke, they need to go back to basics. The rooms clean and comfortable and staff very helpful but this hotel is definitely not a 4*
Stayed here 2 nights before travelling back to NZ, although by the airport the rooms are extremely quiet, the bar was good and the food was very tasty and not over priced, some of the staff I felt needed a few lessons in customers care, had one younger man who was great, but other staff not so.
We stayed here the night before going to the airport. The room was really nice, clean and modern. We had a family room but for some reason there in no door to the bedroom which was a bit odd. We were as tired as the little ones so it didn’t matter but would of been better with a door to the room. The shuttle bus to the airport was brilliant booked the night before and came on time.
On the downside the restaurant was poor, we had a snack nachos to share and some pasta this took nearly 50 minutes to come when there was hardly anyone in the place. But of a shame but overall a nice stay.
