I have visited here before whilst the refurbishment was going on. It looked superb then so I was determined to revisit with my wife when it was complete. It didn't disappoint. The room was excellent. The general layout of the building was a bit confusing as it used to belong to refuge assurance. The features and attention to detail was...

I completely fell in love with the Principal. It is such a fabulous building, I enjoyed every minute of being there. I tried to take some pictures but just couldn't do it justice. If you go, try to find time to just sit in the bar area - it's worth it. I thought the staff were exceptionally nice and there...

We booked last minute for a night here. We were greeted with a rose each upon arrival which was a beautiful touch. The hotel itself is stunning with its architecture. We fell in love with our room instantly. The bed was extremely comfortable. ALL of the staff very helpful - excellent customer service. When I return to Manchester I'd want...

We have been lucky enough to stay in some top end hotels but The Principal is the best! A warm, friendly welcome on check in. A courteous and helpful doorman and just lovely staff. Some nice extra touches in the room too: a complimentary tuck box of crisps, Kit Kat etc. and a small carton of milk in the fridge...

I stayed last year for a disastrous 2 nights- everything that could go wrong did apart from the friendliness of staff. To make up for this I was invited again. The trip could not have been more different. The de luxe room was large with high ceilings. Comfortable chairs as well as a large and comfortable bed made it a...

Stopping recently in Manchester in the Principle, used to be called the Palace. A quick check in - had us up to room 186. A stunning room with super high ceilings of about 15 foot high! A real open atmosphere with large windows letting lots of light in. The room was spotless with all the luxury you could need. We...

One of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. Booked a standard double and it was huge! If we didn't get upgraded I'd be surprised with the size of the room. Gorgeous hotel and really lives up to 5* standards. Loved the bar 'refuge' too which I have been too before. It is equally as gorgeous. Would 100% stay again

Lovely and friendly staff. Stayed in a very spacious room with a large bed which was very comfortable. Shower above the bath was very powerful. Elemis and Neil's yard bath products. Fresh milk and water in the fridge. Kitkat and nice crisps and various tea bags provided. We couldn't get a table at the restaurant as it was fully booked...
