We booked a night here for my Fiance's 30th birthday. The location of the hotel is brilliant, a short walk from the train station and main shopping area. On arrival we were greeted by a very friendly lady on the check in desk, I asked if we were able to upgrade our room as we were visiting for a special...

Booked really good room rate deal. In Manchester for work and decided to stay over and enjoy some shopping and for hubby to join me. Thought I'd be cheeky and ask if I could leave our overnight bag until I went to my meeting. Reception said I could check in as there was a room available so did so, took...

After travelling on business for a number of days I eventually landed at this hotel. I more or less live in hotels for 5 days a week at various locations. My experience of my room was not great - it was possibly "trendy" but to me was really not suitable for the female lone business traveler. I contacted reception and...

I stayed at this hotel for one night. It is extremely convenient for Manchester Piccadilly station – a very short walk. For getting to other places, there is a taxi rank outside. Check-in was friendly and efficient. They recommended booking the full breakfast, as it includes a coupon for a free cocktail in the bar, and several of us did...

The hotel has a great location. It is near the Piccadilly Station and within short walking distance to the Piccadilly Gardens and shopping areas. It has a restaurant for fine dining and Starbucks shares an entrance with the hotel. There is free WiFi everywhere. It seems that the hotel turns into a partying place at the weekends.

Stayed here yesterday for an overnight stay. It definitely has 4* touches, but is. Most definitely "Not" what you would expect from a city centre upper end hotel. Check in was conducted by 2 very young and seemingly inexperienced girls. Room was well. Cleaned, but bathroom wasn't. No tissues in dispenser. Toilet roll. On. Floor. Bath had hair in it....

I came to the Malmaison smoak restaurant for my 21st birthday dinner on 08/07/15. I was blown away by the excellent service, they made me feel like an absolute princess! George the front of house was so welcoming and pulled out all the stops for me! The meal itself was beautiful, we all decided on a burger to eat and...

From the moment we checked in it became clear that nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Even on a rainy Sunday, they were all smiles and were even happy to recommend restaurants for my partners 30th birthday. Upon checking out my partner was again wished a happy birthday, and I genuinely got the feeling that the staff cared...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Mal Manchester: In the home of the beautiful game you're about to turn Moulin Rouge. A short trundle for wheel-based luggage from Piccadilly Station and you're at the Mal - somewhere in the mists between Paris and the 24-hour party city. You cross the chessboard reception and suddenly you're a king for the knight. It's your move. Smoak Bar and Grill at Mal Manchester: A grill room and bar quite unlike anything Manchester has ever before seen. Set in the award-winning Malmaison Hotel minutes from Piccadilly station, Smoak is total indulgence for the senses. The amazing aroma of nation's finest oak-smoked steaks and fresh fish, served to a pewter counter or cosy booth. Imagine great imported beers, cocktails and bubbly served from an unusual sunken bar, with highly skilled mixologists serving you while you stay seated. Picture a stylish relaxed but chic interior a mix of booths, banquettes and counter stools. Come lunchtime and it's locally sourced bread, generously filled sandwiches and salads or full blown grill dining for the more adventurous lunchtime escapee. Come sundown the mood changes and we turn the aromas up to eleven. The cocktails flow, the steaks sizzle, the music turns up and the night begins. Ember Lounge at Mal Manchester: We could tell you about the Ember Lounge - an immaculate and opulent cocktail bar furtively hidden to the rear of the Smoak Bar & Grill. ... more   less
