Upon arriving at the malmaison I was very impressed with the beautiful decor and warm welcome. We booked an executive room on the top floor, the room we was allocated first was 532, and we wasn't happy with the noise of a building site right outside the window, so we rang reception and the lady was so helpful and changed...

We stayed on a Saturday night using the girls night in package. £250 for 2 of us to stay over, 2 course lunch, cocktail, glass of champagne, spa treatment each and breakfast. We were upgraded as our room was not ready. The room was very nice but not I was expecting from malmaison. We wanted the dark and different room...

Positive: This hotel has a great location directly outside Piccadilly train station and perfect for Central Manchester. I attended a dinner function so wanted to stay here but thought it would be to expensive. However I booked the room a few weeks out and at £85 it was excellent value. The room was fine, the bed was very comfortable and...

This is great for people going to Manchester on the train as it is situated on the main road between Picadilly station and Picadilly gardens with loads of bars and shops in the vicinity. It had a nice reception area and was joined to a bar and restaurant called Smoak. They were replacing the carpets whilst we were there so...

The hotel is a short walk from the main train station at Piccadilly. The downstairs bar has a nice feel about it. I was only there one night so did not use the restaurant facilities. There are quite a few interesting areas on the ground floor and the food on offer looked interesting, but there is so much to eat...

A huge thank you to Harvery & Team at the hotel for looking after my friends and family so well on Saturday night for my birthday celebration in the Ember Lounge. The food and atmosphere was perfect and everyone had a fantastic night.

Stayed here last Friday night and it still remains a good quality stylish hotel with great staff, groovy rooms and reasonable prices. We returned after a night in town quite late and the bar scene in the hotel was fun and lively. Our first choice in Manchester

Stayed at the Malmaison for our first anniversary, the staff were very friendly and welcoming on our arrival, the lobby looks fantastic when you first enter the building. The room was spotlessly clean, the bed and pillows were comfy. Despite being opposite some bars we were not disturbed by any noise and the curtains are black out ones so got...

Friendly staff, always excellent rooms and a relaxing atmosphere. Rainfall showers are the perfect antidote to a night out, as is filter coffee in the room. Bar is great though the cocktails are slightly overpriced.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Mal Manchester: In the home of the beautiful game you're about to turn Moulin Rouge. A short trundle for wheel-based luggage from Piccadilly Station and you're at the Mal - somewhere in the mists between Paris and the 24-hour party city. You cross the chessboard reception and suddenly you're a king for the knight. It's your move. Smoak Bar and Grill at Mal Manchester: A grill room and bar quite unlike anything Manchester has ever before seen. Set in the award-winning Malmaison Hotel minutes from Piccadilly station, Smoak is total indulgence for the senses. The amazing aroma of nation's finest oak-smoked steaks and fresh fish, served to a pewter counter or cosy booth. Imagine great imported beers, cocktails and bubbly served from an unusual sunken bar, with highly skilled mixologists serving you while you stay seated. Picture a stylish relaxed but chic interior a mix of booths, banquettes and counter stools. Come lunchtime and it's locally sourced bread, generously filled sandwiches and salads or full blown grill dining for the more adventurous lunchtime escapee. Come sundown the mood changes and we turn the aromas up to eleven. The cocktails flow, the steaks sizzle, the music turns up and the night begins. Ember Lounge at Mal Manchester: We could tell you about the Ember Lounge - an immaculate and opulent cocktail bar furtively hidden to the rear of the Smoak Bar & Grill. ... more   less
