Stayed at this hotel for a “date night”, had afternoon tea in Cloud 23 in the afternoon. Not worth the £110 paid. The hotel has a reputation as one of the best hotels to stay in Manchester. It falls far short of its reputation. There are areas of the hotel that are tatty. On our floor the carpet was threadbare near the lift. Our room again was tatty. The furniture all scuffed and scruffy. Would not not pay £170 again to stay one night in this place !!

We stayed here for 5 nights to celebrate our wedding anniversary after our trip to Turkey was cancelled. We arrived early in the afternoon, check in was efficient and our room was ready.We had a nice room on a high floor, lots of space. Covid measures were well signed and clearly explained by staff at each point of contact.As Diamond members we had access to the executive lounge on the 23rd floor, seating was well spaced out,canapes and drinks were served at your table. It looked like they had underestimated occupancy levels as it was quite busy and staff around the hotel were in constant demmand. We had dinner in the ground floor Podium restaurant, the food and service was really good. The hotel is in a great location,close to the Science and Industry museum and many other attractions. The staff were all very pleasant, helpful and efficient. In the exec lounge, Ariel and Lorenzo were rushed off their feet,especially Lorenzo who ran the room on his own for two nights, but maintained a friendly disposition despite being under constant pressure. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely return.

We stayed here for one night on the 28th May. I had enquired about a couple of things beforehand. I got the impression they were always quite busy when I phoned. We had got the tram from Manchester Victoria and it was a short walk then from Deansgate. At check in, as a Gold member I had hoped for a next room category upgrade (but we understand we aren’t entitled). As it was, we were told there wasn’t one available but we had tried to upgrade on the app for a small fee, but was told that the fee was waived at check in as they couldn’t upgrade us any further, which was a nice touch. We enquired about late check (as it was, I only wanted an hour later than the norm), but was told no late check outs on a weekend. I asked a different member of staff the following morning, and I was accommodated late check out then by that extra hour. When I got upto the room, I could smell smoke, and it was noticeable again later on in the day. I’m pretty sure our room room number was 1919, and it was a spacious room at the end of the corridor, but the room next door was where the cleaners would go, and some machine like thing kept waking us up during the night. The breakfast was one of my favourite parts of my hotel stay, I thought it was very well organised. It was a Buffett which was served by staff. It was extremely efficient and there were plenty of staff that would mean we didn’t wait long to have fruit juice, coffees etc delivered to our table. We probably didn’t maximise our experience at the hilton, as we didn’t have an executive room so wasn’t able to use the executive lounge. We also didn’t use the swimming pool and gym. However from my experience in the hotel, I would say from what I witnessed I would say it was just about average and I probably expected slightly more. Oh, also, no digital key either from what I remember. I did like the location but if I was to stay in Manchester again, I think I would probably give somewhere else a try.

Fire alarm woke us at 4am. Had to run down 13 flights of narrow stairs, miracle no one tripped. No explanation or apology from staff, outside for 2 hours. Only went away to get some rest! No discount offered. 15% off parking code did not work when paying for parking adjacent. My card was charged twice for the room. I was still in Manchester the next day so went to complain. They apologies, said it was their mistake and when I got home I had in fact been charged AGAIN so THREE times. It plummeted me into my overdraft and I am still paying overdraft fees as it takes “5 more days” to rectify! The view from the room was great and the breakfast. Won’t stay again. I don’t want to chase up getting my money back after being charged thrice. Who does?!

This hotel has gone to the dogs. Our room was disgusting clearly not been cleaned (see pictures) you would think this would have been a priority with the current pandemic? I have stayed in other hotels during this worrying time and none have had the low level of cleanliness the Hilton displays. also very worrying we was seated for breakfast at a table for 2 off we pop to collect it from the buffet and when we return a couple had been seated next to us half a meter away (I would have expected staff to be aware of the guidelines) I asked a member of staff to put this right and was told "you can move if you want to" great customer service Hilton. we was left to move all our belongings carry our food and drinks whilst the member of staff just walked away!
