My room (1122) was clean and modern, but even on the 11th floor you hear everything going on in Piccadilly Gardens as well as any parties going on in the hotel, so not the most peaceful nights sleep. Restaurant isn't bad and the staff are friendly. Nice and central for most things in Manchester.

Stayed here on a Saturday night, central location, very easy to get to and good access to all that Manchester holds. Rooms are OK, not massive but OK, beds comfy and we're on the 10th floor so fab view across the city. Room was quite expensive but lots going on in Manchester that weekend.

Dear tomkirnic, Thank you for writing your recent review. One of the main benefits of our hotel is our central location and our rooms do offer fantastic views across the city. When there are events on in the city, the rates across the hotels in Manchester do increase due to supply in demand. I hope that you return in the...

Stayed for a conference, had a standard room for one night. Room comfortable and well equipped, maybe a little small but it was a standard. Banquet dinner was good and service prompt. Very good breakfast. But of a wait at checkin and for breakfast otherwise fine.

On business trip - hotel was alright but a little soulless (typical for a city centre hotel). Staff were good behind reception and quite helpful but a bit unsmiling and unfriendly elsewhere. Entrance is a bit weird and uninviting from Portland street. Shame Manchester city centre is so dirty and depressing - guess it will be the same elsewhere with...

Dear David L, Thank you for writing your detailed review. We stayed in this hotel for the weekend. Had chosen the hotel because of the central location. The staff is polite (in breakfast restaurant) and the breakfast is very good. The rooms are small and I am not impressed by the welcoming in the reception. One very negative thing is that they charge you for depositing your luggage the day...

Great for what it is - budget hotel in the centre of Manchester. Good number of twin rooms, which is great if you're visiting with a group of friends. Clean and comfortable. Easy walk to many bars and restaurants and super-handy for Piccadilly Station (10 min walk).

This hotel is pretty average, but takes care of most needs. The best thing is the location: you're in walking distance from just about everything. The rooms are spacious and clean. It is situated righ tnext to the bus and tram terminal so be prepared to listen to 24/7 honking sounds.

Dear Helene B, Thank you for writing your review. We have a wonderful location within the city centre of Manchester, perfect for shopping or dining! Unfortunately, sometimes with being located in the centre it does come with sound and we do try minimizing the amount of guests impacted however, with full occupancy we do appreciate it is not all possible....

I visit Manchester for business every week so have stayed in several hotels in the centre. The Mercure is a nice, comfortable hotel and good value. It compares favourably with the Hilton for facilities and meets expectations of service and quality for the price. The view from the restaurant at night adds something special and a bit of glamour to...
