Definitely not a 4 star hotel. Standard double room very small for two people and bed seemed especially small for a double. Decor needs upgrading especially the bathroom. Heating took 30 minutes to turn on and air in room very stuffy, I felt claustrophobic and couldn't wait to get out. One night was enough. Only good thing was location to...

Just had a weekend at the Mercure, very central so great for shopping and all the venues of Manchester, good breakfast but book as expensive if you walk in, clean and tidy with good staff. Only bad thing is the car park fee, it used to be £15 a night but has gone up to £25 so be prepared, its...

Excellent facilities and efficient service for a big hotel in a big chain. Slick check in, lovely room, enough peace and quiet in the bar for an enjoyable drink at the end of the day. Conference facilities very good indeed.

Loved my stay here helpful and friendly staff. The only problem was that the bathroom needed upgrading as it wasnt in keep with the hotel, also was the same height as me which made having a shower rather hard! Would definatly come back and recomend!

Great central location. Close to shopping and to Chinatown. Good price. Friendly staff. Clean. Perhaps a little old and tired. Bathroom was very old! Nice breakfast, included in price of room. Overall - good value and a pleasant stay in Manchester.

Fab location, superb facilities, great bar and restaurant and service very good. However I got a surprise when I was told there was a £25 a night overnight charge for car-parking. Wasn't advised when I booked and we had 2 cars. Left a real bad taste in the mouth....and spoiled an otherwise excellent trip.
