This hotel is almost equidistant from the Cathedral about 4 blocks to the east and and Petite France 4 blocks to the west. The staff was very nice and helpful. Good breakfast. We checked out in the morning and they kept our luggage until we came back to retrieve it in the afternoon. Minimalist modern decor in public areas and room. Comfortable beds. Our room was up two flights of stairs and there is no elevator. Only one complaint: all the pillows had a "sour" smell.

The hotel is located at the centre of town, very close to Petite France. Walking distance from the train station - no more than 10 minutes. Recommend that you cut through Petite France with your luggage for a shortcut, but do bring smaller bags or knapsacks as it is all cobble-stoned passages. Didn't get to eat the food in the hotel as there are plenty of choices outside the hotel. Good bed, clean amenities. Overall satisfaction met :)

This hotel turned out to be a great choice for our Xmas market trip to Strasbourg. Very well located in the city centre, you can walk to all city attractions, with plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. The place from outside looks small, but the hotel is good, and we had a very nice room.

I recently stayed at the ETC hotel for four nights, and I'm happy to except that its a budget hotel, and not to expect too much.
But cheap doesn't have to mean, old, faded and way past its best, like this hotel clearly was.
My room was so dark and dingy, that even during the day, when the sun was shinning, you needed the light on.
The bed was very hard and lumpy and uncomfortable, and the paint on the sparse furniture was peeling and flaky.
The bathroom was very old fashioned and looked like a throw back to the 1970's.
There is no lift, so you have to lug your heavy bags through a warren of dark and winding staircases and passageways. Just about ok for me. But the elderly or people with disabilities may struggle.
I suppose the only positive thing I can say about the places was its central location.

I stayed at the ETC hotel in mid February and after the first night found that I had been bitten severely by bedbugs.

My partner and I checked the frame of the bed and found the bedbugs had formed a nest and had been there for quite a while.

Our room was changed immediatlely but the general response of the hotel was unsatisfactory; I actually had to pay for the pleasure of being bitten; the hotel offered me free breakfast which of course is unsatisfactory.

The hotel also informed me that they have a regular pest control person but I am unsure how that is the case given the maturity of the bed bug nest that we saw.

All in all I simply cannot recommend this hotel

I stayed there for three nights at the end of September 2014 and was bitten alive! I have over 100 bites from bed bugs and I have been home for three nights and I am really suffering the consequences! I had read the comments before booking and all seemed really positive but my partner left a comment on here earlier today which does not appear which leads me to think that they are screening reviews. Absolutely disgusting. I would never stay here again and would not wish the suffering of bed bugs on anybody. Do not stay here at any cost!!!!! When I some to the staff after I returned home, they dud say that they had had this problem before abs I can sew that now from one review a few years ago. I plan to take this further and I elk not test until I have a film refund and I complain to environmental health to prevent any more suffering. Appauled!

The ETC Hotel was an unexpected gem that we found in Strasbourg! We had been staying at a chain hotel when visiting Strasbourg overnight, but I needed wifi for work and was tired of paying an extra 20 Euro/ day for it. The location was right in the middle of everything, easy walking everywhere- even for my mother in her 70's with a bad knee. The staff was very helpful from the front desk to the manager who fixed a problem with our bathroom sink within 5 minutes of calling about it.

This is not a complaint- just a planning point. The rooms are "small" according to some travelers but this is Europe and a wonderful quaint hotel in the middle of an OLD city! If you have a lot of luggage or need a king size bed for two, just call and request one of the rooms with a double and twin bed in it, they are a little larger. The beds were very comfortable, not as hard as some European hotel beds can be. The windows open for fresh air, or to hear the church bells and birds! When the window was closed, it was very quiet and I had a delicious long sleep.

The wifi worked beautifully throughout the hotel and we thought the breakfast was more than adequate! Beautiful rolls, ham, camembert, fresh fruit, yogurts, cereals, milk, coffee any way you like, tea, hot chocolate, hard boiled eggs... we were stuffed!

We will definitely stay at this hotel again and will recommend to friends (already have!)

Enjoy!

p.s. Parking was close and easy at the Gutenberg Parking Garage near the cathedral- 20 Euro for 24 hours.

I just returned from four days and three nights in Strasbourg, France. At the last minute my wife and I (with friends) decided to visit Strasbourg. We had a real difficult time finding an available hotel. We finally found the ETC Hotel. I read the reviews (the good AND the bad). The bad reviews scared me a little but there were, I think, four very bad reviews. They mentioned bed bugs and one complained about the breakfast. Well, our experience was nothing like these reviews, The rooms were extremely clean and the linens were fresh and spotless. The breakfast was a typical French breakfast; couissant, petite pain au chocolate, baguette, great coffee out of automated fancy espresso machine, fresh cut fruit, brie cheese, ham and salami (as much as you could eat for 8 Euros). Utterly fantastic. I love this hotel and when we return to Strasbourg again we will be staying at this hotel. Oh, did I mention the price was very reasonable too. The staff was very friendly and very helpful in helping us find restaurants to eat dinner in and in suggesting some of the sights to visit. And the ETC is centrally located in the City Center.

What happened to my friends and me in this hotel was appaling!. First of all, the hotel is extremely expensive for what it offers. The hotel entrance is small and cheezy, and the rooms are extremely small and smelly, fitted with the most horrible furniture (the closet was metalic and looked like it had been taken out of a millitary base and you could not open any of its doors without hearing the worst and loudest squeky sound). There was an unpleasant smell when we entered the room and the toilet room (that is absolutely horrible) stank of urine (it has no window and is no bigger than the toilet). It was horrible. The washroom was also extremely small, I kept bumping into the walls, it was THAT small. The worst was, however, yet to come. The shower drain was clogged. We removed the drain cap because we thought maybe that would make the water go down the drain more quickly and that's when we saw the most disgusting thing. Feces and the most appaling filth I had ever seen. In the shower drain!!

It was late (around 11 pm) but we went to the reception and asked for another room (at least to shower that night) but the man at the reception said that the hotel was full. We had to shower like that, I do not have the words to describe the experience. I still have nightmares about it.

We were given a new room the next day. That was ok, it was a 4-person room, a lot bigger, but the washroom and toilet room were the same (small, and stinky in case of the toilet room).

The staff was not friendly at all (expecially the man in the evenings) and they seemed like they were shoveling coal. Not interested at all to be welcoming or anything like that, they looked like they hated their job. We only heard one apology for what had happened.

Hello, yes it could be possible, but you should ask for availabilities before making your booking as the places are limited as we do not have a garage, but you can leave them at the reception hall.

Bonjour, c'est une question tout à fait légitime. Cependant, comme dans beaucoup d'autres secteurs (billet d'avion, par exemple), les prix varient en fonction de saison. Basse saison prix bas, haute saison prix haut.
