Our family, 2 adults and 2 kids, stayed here for one night on our trip to Strasbourg. The room was plenty big enough for our family. We had a large balcony as well, which was nice! Breakfast was included with the room and we even had it delivered to our room free of charge. The location was good. It was a little ways outside the city, but it is right next to a fantastic park. The Orangery Park was beautiful. We walked around with kids for several hours and had a great time.

Le Jean-Sebastien Bach is an older hotel in a residential area of Strasbourg. We had a large room and were able to park for free just down the block. There was a good Italian restaurant next door and the hotel breakfast for 15 Euros each was good.

The hotel is ok but I would not recommend it.

Location: 5/10 - half an hour by foot to the city center. Around the hotel there is nothing aside a very nice park. Finding a decent restaurant nearby was impossible, which is a problem considering that the hotel does not have a restaurant

Room 6/10 : big but very old fashioned. The whole hotel looks like out of the ‘80 and was not changed since. Complete lack of style

Facilities 4/10: old fashioned, not renovated, no gym.

Service 9/10: the lady at the reception was very helpful

Price 6/10: the hotel was cheap but for similar prices you can find better ones

Old 4 stars hotel. Un unpolite concierge at the entrance. They shout at you if you don't wear the mask when the cleaning lady don't use it or wear it under her chin.
I saw her two days in a row in the corridor. Old and ruined carpet in the room.

Such dirty place should not exist. Carpet full of spots, furniture out of age. TV old style out of service certainly for a while.. breakfast with a sort of very bad bred / still frozen but no fresh bread which is a real challenge in France … and very expensive for the quality.

A very comfortable apartment hotel in a peaceful and quiet area. Pleasant, equipped and comfortable rooms. Reasonable and respectable breakfast. A nice and pleasant Christmas atmosphere. Courteous and cordial service, there is plenty of convenient parking across the road in the nearby neighborhoods.

We had an excellent stay . The accommodation was spacious and spotlessly clean. A very comfortable bed ensured a very restful sleep. The studio had all the essentials necessary for a great stay. Free on street parking was plentiful. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice.
Staff on reception were polite, professional and friendly. Easy walk into the main sights of Strasbourg. A very peaceful place to stay. Great value for money and highly r3commended.

This hotel has great accomodations for the business traveler and large families. We are family of four (couple with 16 year old & 2 year old). In our room, we had a kitchenette with all utensils, expensive snacks, a HUGE bathroom and separate toilet, a balcony with terrace furniture. One dbl bed was located in a separate bedroom, while the second dbl bed was a foldout sofa. Each bed had it's own TV - great for adults & kids who need a break from one another. (heehee!)

Location is okay. It's in a safe neighborhood with lots of street parking. There is a nice park within walking distance. The city center is a short 5 minute drive away... or a long walk for those daring to walk the distance with small children!

We would definitely stay here again!

My husband and I stayed at Le Jean Sebastien Bach Hotel May 24-26, 2005. Our European friends researched and booked this hotel. I am glad they did! Although it was quite a hike to downtown Strasbourg, the room and terrace made up for the long walk and rail ride.

Our friends booked the large apartements, the second highest class of room. We didn't know, so boy did we get a pleasant surprise! We walked in to a small entry way that had two doors, one to the toilet and one to the suite. The room had a large family room area with a couch that made into a bed, a desk, a table with chairs, and a kitchenette! Open to the family room was a bedroom with a king sized bed and another door, the bathroom with a shower, a sink, and a tub. The best part is it had a huge terrace off the of the entire room. The windows slide open to find a table and chairs on the terrace, over looking a small courtyard and other apartments. We faced the east, so the sun came in in the morning, but our terrace was shaded at night, which was perfect since we arrived during a heat wave. This hotel did have AC, but the quiet area let us open the great windows for a fresh breeze.

Breakfast in the morning was like most European hotels: croissant, rolls, meats, cheeses, fresh fruit, yogurt, cereals, juices, coffe, tea, hot chocolate. The breakfast area was tiny, but we never saw it crowded.

The only negative was the distance from downtown Strasbourg and the smell of the hallways. We had to walk about 15 minutes to the rail station to get a train to town. Again, the hotel was worth it, but I would think hard about it if you can't walk that far. You could rent a bike if you would rather ride. Parking there is a nightmare, but bikes are everywhere. I would also recommend the Strasbourg Pass to see the cathedral, the clock, a day's bike rental, a museum, a boat tour, and more very cheaply. The book can be used for 3 days and can be purchased at the tourist info center across from the cathedral for about 12 Euro, I think.
