Not a particularly great location, small rooms, very small bathroom, basic facilities only. The service in the bar area was below standard - often had to wait lengthy periods for any attention. Inexpensive, but you get what you pay for.

Dear Guest, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. While I wish you had a better experience, it is feedback like this that we learn from and use to improve. We work hard to deliver an exceptional guest experience, and it's apparent in this case that we fell short. It is very central with very easy parking outside and underground. Which is ideal. It is near restaurants and a supermarket.
The room is so small. Honestly smaller than any budget I've ever stayed in. The toilet was also the smallest toilet I've ever seen. I have no idea how I managed to wash my hair without knocking myself out or flooding the bathroom.
It was good value for money at 45 a night for 2 people.

Overall a good budget hotel, rooms a bit on the tight side, very clean and air conditioning worked very will as it was 30 deg. C for the duration. Reception staff very helpful, breakfast was ample. Nice area very close to Grand Ile & Petite France

I cannot understand how this can be a 3 star hotel.

We stayed for 2 nights (14th to 16th Feb 2020) and we ended up in a room with a toilet smaller than 2 sqm with snots on the walls (one even with a hair attached to it as you can see from the picture).

The mattress on the bed was 5cm thick (I think they have thicker ones for camping nowadays) and 180cm long. I'm 190cm tall so I had to sleep with my feet outside the bed. The furniture in the rooms is really outdated too and there was no safe in the room.

For breakfast, on the first day when we got to the restaurant 90% of the tables were free but still dirty and no-one was cleaning them. Dishes were missing and we had to look for someone to ask for other ones and waited 5 minutes just for that. Overall breakfast was ok.

For the parking on the rear-side, nobody was lifting the barrier even after ringing the bell multiple times and my girlfriend always had to go the reception and ask to open the gate.

The friendly personnel and the position close to petite France are the only good things worth nothing.

Ibis Strasbourg Centre Historique is the most unpleasant hotel I've ever stayed in my entire life, and I've stayed in many hotels. The rooms are tiny and decorated in an ugly way: grey, light brown, messy red on walls, plastic furniture. The lifts hardly work. My keycard was reprogrammed all the time, as I was not able to take the lift, and finally it was changed all together. With the new card I got up to the 7th floor, but was not able to enter my room, neither to take a lift back downstairs.
It was late night, but at least the email worked. The guy from the reception came to rescue me. He was rude and said that he could fix the lock of my door, but does not do it; instead he will make me come back downstairs with him (to show me my place as a Scandinavian woman).
Ibis serves breakfast in the worst French style: croissants and other bakery made out of wheat, some fruit and tasteless coffee.
I strongly recommend: do not stay in Ibis Strasbourg Centre Historique, you'd suffer there.

Tu-W, July 12-13, ~9 pm check-in. Horrible girl at desk—tall and thin with light brown hair and almond eyes. As the lone desk attendant, she ignored us while she finished writing something without acknowledging us. Then when she finally bothered to look up, she was very sour and acted like we were wasting her time. As she presented the credit card reader, she said to insert the card as I reflexively tried to tap it on the contactless icon as at nearly every other establishment. She repeated, “INSÉRER la carte,” like I was a jerk. After staying at 30 hotels during an extended tour of France, Italy, and Switzerland, it was definitely the rudest reception we’d ever gotten. Every other place was much more accommodating. She made me want to leave our room in a mess, though we did not. The breakfast attendant was also somewhat militant about checking room numbers and made people uncomfortable for being in the buffet line. Though it’s a good location, I’d recommend another place for better hospitality.

Great location, great breakfast. Recommendation for all, hotel location is near old city and Petite France. TGV railway station is very near. The best part of all is the Strasbourg's Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MAMCS), located just behind the hotel.

For a €110/night! there was no breakfast. Got wrong room no for key, had to go down to change. Am in my room and new guest tries to enter. They gave him the wrong no. You ask staff what is best way to reach hotel by public transportation, they tell you best to walk. You discover it’s 3 bus stops from train station. Not the cleanest hotel. They fold used towel so you don’t know which is the clean one. Sink fills with water and all kinds of dirty remains come out. Poor amenities.

In many respects, a typical Ibis. Very cheap and handily placed within a short walk of the old city centre. No frills, the room and particularly the bathroom were compact to say the least but comfortable enough. The staff were friendly and helpful. All in all good value for a short stay.

Answer from susangcs

The only hot items we saw when there were boiled eggs in water, you could make toast and crepes kept hot under a heat lamp. The breakfast was good though with cereals, fruit, yogurts, bakery items, cheese, ham, bread. There was tea and coffee (you could even takeaway in the cups on offer).
