We were originally booked into another hotel which we left after one night of listening to the tram outside our window. We requested a quiet room and were shown several to choose from and from then on our holiday was wonderful. Our room was huge and overlooked the courtyard, it was quiet but still close to everything. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for the perfect place to stay.

Three extraordinarily comfortable nights in this wonderful small hotel added nicely to a delightful stay In Strasbourg. The bathroom in our junior suite was worthy of the best 5 stars we have stayed in, with a Jacuzzi bath and a rain shower that actually delivered water worthy of a tropical downpour. Super comfortable bed and soft pillows topped it off. Friendly, helpful staff Great location. Stay here.

We stayed in a room overlooking the entrance yard. Decor was lovely antique and roof with exposed beams and hardwood floor etc. Everything spotlessly clean and they provided complimentary chilled water each day and kettle with cups and selection of teas/coffees etc. Hotel seemed very quiet generally, but do make sure you close your windows if you’re a light sleeper as the church bells can go during the early hours. We had a minor issue with the room but was sorted in minutes with profuse apologies. All staff very pleasant and professional. Location excellent for tourist sights and just a ten/fifteen min walk to the station. Did not have breakfast as it cost €22 per person, which seemed a lot. However, a number of options nearby for coffee and croissant. Would not hesitate to stay again.

We are happy to see that your stay went well. Breakfast at 22 €uros is made up of many products home made, which explains the price.

We just came home from a wonderful trip in Strasbourg. This hotel is one of the best we've ever stayed at in Europe. The customer service was fantastic and memorable. I especially want to thank Sith at the bar. We always looked forward to seeing him every night at the end our day exploring.

ROOMS: The hotel has done a great job at renovating a centuries old building while maintaining charm and modern conveniences for guests. Our room was larger than the average sized European hotel room. One of the main features was the large, oversized wardrobe from the 16th century. It was nice to have a piece of history in your own room. The bed was comfortable and there were extra pillows if desired.

LOCATION: The hotel is in the picturesque section of Petite France while still being easily walkable to other sites in the city. The walk from the train station is about 10 minutes. We took a taxi on the way back because we had checked luggage and it came out to about eleven euros.

BREAKFAST: The breakfast selection is moderate and they included a few local specialties such as Alsatian cake and local Christmas cookies. They also had regular breakfast foods such as eggs, sausage, yogurts and cereals.

Overall we had a great time at this hotel. We've been home two days and we already miss it! :)

Excellent stay! A very large room, great location and the staff couldn't have been nicer. It was a busy holiday weekend, and they helped secure dinner reservations for us, even though the first 4 restaurants they called were full. (lesson learned for us) We arrived by train, and my husband determined that it was a 10 minute walk from the train station. Wrong! Be sure to take a taxi. The staff secured a taxi for our return trip. The location of the hotel is excellent, close to everything. And after our tiny, tiny room in Paris, it was so very nice to have a big room, with a great shower.

Le Bouclier d'Or Hotel & Spa was a wonderful experience. The rooms were clean, spacious and full of character. All the staff were friendly, helpful and personable. We were given recommendations for restaurants. There was also a valet service for our car as the carpark is a 20 min walk away. We will be returning!

This delightful, traditional hotel has gorgeous decor. The lounges have chandeliers and old, carved armoires and chairs. We loved the wooden floors and the lovely clothes cupboard in our room. Everyone at the hotel is cheerful, welcoming, and helpful. The neighborhood by Petite France has many excellent restaurants and bistros.

We visited for one night unexpectedly, after our flight from the US to Germany was cancelled and we flew to Paris instead. Strasbourg was a lovely town and this hotel was perfectly situated in Petit France. We had 2 rooms - one for my husband and I and one for our three children. Both rooms were bilevel, with a spiral staircase leading to the sleeping quarters up under the roof. Very clean. Breakfast was ample and delicious, with hot and cold offerings. Outdoor courtyard was lovely. Felt very safe and quiet. Walkable to everything. Would absolutely stay here again.

We spent 4 night in Strasbourg at Le bouclier door hotel. The hotel has been totally renovated and everything is beautifully done. The rooms are large, comfortable beds and very well maintained. There is an area off reception with sofa’s and chairs where you may sit and have a cocktail. It is a very pretty area, with a relaxing ambiance.
The hotel staff are welcoming and helpful with finding local restaurants and reservations.
Rooms are very clean, wonderful bathroom, always a plus.
Would definitely recommend staying here
