We had the suite on the top floor and enjoyed our stay. It was within walking distance to everything we wanted to go to in Petite France, especially the Christmas markets. The suite was large and a nice space for our family of 4 to spread out. The only issue was that the suite was advertised as having 2 king beds and a twin bed. The "king" beds were not even queen-sized, more like full or double sized. Other than that, it was a great stay!

Even though the staff is very friendly and the hotel has a certain charm, I don’t think I can with good faith rate my experience higher than this. The single room is very small for someone as tall as me even if I fit in the bed comfortably. Turning in the minuscule bathroom was very difficult. Efforts had been made to decorate the room with art, but in this case I would have preferred just plain walls. The biggest shortcoming is the dated heating system which was inadequate for the cold winter months. Not my cup of tea.

The hotel was in a good location and the room was quiet. The front desk staff was friendly. Needs attention to details. The rooms had a damaged remote, the floor was not cleaned and the bathroom had hair on the wall and mold.

A hotel just across the bridge from grand ile, so all of city is in walking distance.
Friendly staff and small cute hotel. Gym and sauna (fee for sauna) in basement.
Wifi works great. I measured it to 40 mbs.

First things first....this is not the US. The rooms are small (I had something maybe 110 sf, w/a double bed, good size bathroom/shower, and a cupboard....all for 60 Euro a night....). That works for one or two of you - with not a lot of luggage. Don't plan on it (or go for a more expensive room), if you are lugging full size suit cases through Europe! Go to Disney World if you want that kind of experience....

Noise wasn't a problem for me (on 5th floor). Elevator worked better then many I've been in here. Room was cleaned daily (surprisingly for small hotels in Europe)....there was no AC in my room (could be an issue in the summer), though several of the larger rooms did have individual units. Most importantly - WiFi worked great. No need to pay for the breakfast...get out and find a café.

Parking - there is a public garage 25m, across the street. 20 Euro a day. Perfect. And - GPS took me right there....so, an easy find. And walking distance to everything you need.

Rooms...31, 32, 25 & 26 - largest, with AC, and a somewhat view.... Looks like the rooms on the 4th floor are going through a repaint/remodel.....

I'm going again.....

My wife and I spent four days in this little hotel. It is very well situated, near the cathedral and the old town. The rooms are nice, clean, comfortable and spacious, and the bathroom very modern. A special mention to the personnel which is extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast (french style) is great. The only negative thing I have to say is that the hotel does not have a bar, and does not even sell you a beer (they are not licensed for that). But this is not a very great deal because there are many places at walking distance where the thirsty tourist can quench his thirst! We strongly recommend "Hotel Roses" for both business stay and vacation. We will definitely come back!

room is a bit worn but still okay for this price and location. the hotel provides free internet and sauna which is great. did not have the breakfast which needs to be paid seperatly, however the buffet looked nice and might be an option for the 8.5 euros. would certainly call again! since also strasbourg is a great place ;-)

A lovely quaint hotel just opposite the Ill and merely a short stroll to the historic center of Strasbourg. The hotel is small but sweet and clean with very friendly and helpful staff. We occupied a double room and the family room that they call "La Suite" which has a kitchen, 1 single room, a double room and a double bed in the living room. Although just 2 stars, but they provide airconditioning, free wifi, SAT-TV, and a kitchenette with stove, oven and small refrigerator. However, there were no kitchen utensils provided, not even drinking glasses or teaspoons, cups and saucers for coffee. Nevertheless, they promptly provided us these basic amenities as soon as we requested. In addition, I would like to suggest to the management that they need to provide a sofa inside the suite for the comfort of their guests. Those stools were awful to use!

The greatest thing of this place is that is does not feel like staying in a simple, cold, usual hotel, you are in a real house of this town, with rooms like all the other rooms of an apartment in Strasbourg.
This may also mean that the curtains are old, that your window is just in front of the window of the building nearby, and that you may find a small spider in a corner of the roof. But only in a place like this we could feel the magic atmosphere of the town!
Just on the other side of the river, the city center is right there. And even the univeristy is just 5 minutes walk from the hotel.
The breakfast was good for the hoterl category.
The staff was absolutely friendly and welcoming. They even hold the door open for us when we left!
The garage is just 2 minutes walk, and it costs 20 Euro for 24 hours stay.
Absolutely convenient and... magic!

Our party of 4 was greeted pleasantly on arrival, before making our way to the rooms (six and seven). We were expecting to find a double room and a twin room, as booked. Much to our dismay, we could not tell the rooms apart. Both had two mattresses in a single bed frame that could not be moved apart, each mattress having its own single quilt.

We approached reception to ask if we were definitely given a twin room. Unfortunately, the answer was yes. On challenging this assertion we were told that the mattresses are in fact separate, qualifying the room as a twin.

Let me assure you, travellers: the twin room mattresses were as close together as the double bed mattresses.

The member of staff then told us that "these were the rooms you booked online", missing the point completely. Perhaps if their listing on booking.com had indicated that they consider "twin" a synonym of "double", then the argument would be valid.

We asked for restaurant recommendations for dinner, but were simply told that there were restaurants near the cathedral. Having worked in a hotel myself, I would expect to be given at least a few recommendations pointed out on a local map.
